California Makes Mail-in Ballots Permanent

News Nation

Every registered California voter will get a ballot mailed to them in future elections under a bill signed Monday by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The law makes permanent a change adopted during the pandemic for the 2020 election and the recent recall against Newsom. California, the nation’s most populous state, joins several other Western states in mailing all voters a ballot, including Utah, Colorado, Washington and Oregon. Republicans who hold a minority in the state Legislature opposed the expansion of voting by mail.

Under the new law, ballots in California must go out at least 29 days before an election. Voters still have the option to drop off their ballot or vote in person. Prior to the pandemic, many Californians were already voting by mail. More

  2. Introduced to Utah in 2013, vote by mail’s primary advantages are convenience, cost savings, and voter turnout. Vote by mail also allows voters to do research on each candidate on their own time wherever they feel comfortable. Utah is one out of twenty-two States that has this option available and interestingly enough four States (California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington) hold all elections by mail only. The decision to have the option to vote by mail in Utah is not a state wide decision but instead up each of the 29 counties within Utah. As of 2018, 27 of the 29 counties here (98% of Utah’s electorate) have this option. All registered voters in the Utah County’s that allow vote by mail will automatically receive a ballot with prepaid return envelopes if an election is being conducted by mail. Residents of Utah that don’t want to vote by mail need not fret as the option to vote in person is still available for those that like the traditional way. As more and more citizens become aware of the vote by mail options it won’t be a surprise to see more States and counties implementing this option in the upcoming elections.

UTAH IS IN A ULTRA-CONSERVATIVE STATE. YOU ASS TARD CONSERVATIVES DON’T BELIEVE IN DEMOCRACY ANYWAY. BY THE WAY, MAIL IN VOTING IS AWESOME. EVERYONE IN UTAH INCLUDIING ASS TARDS LOVE IT. YOUR ASS TARD WOULD LOVE IT.

  3. More of the β€œthe soft bigotry of low expectations” on display by our Liberal friends who think they have to do the voting for Black people because they are too stupid! I guess they should be thankful they’re not dead! Then they’d be voting democRAT for sure!!
