Mercury News: The specter of ongoing rolling electrical blackouts throughout the state remained prominent Tuesday as an extreme heatwave that has scorched the Bay Area and much of California with triple-digit temperatures for the past four days continues.
Rolling blackouts that state power officials expected Monday were avoided. The California’s Independent System Operator, which oversees the state’s electricity grid, said major conservation efforts by customers and major efforts by the ISO to boost the state’s power supply kept them from happening.
But with more hot temperatures forecast for Tuesday, the ISO has another flex alert in effect from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Officials at PG&E said Tuesday morning that “conservation is critical” to reduce the risk Tuesday afternoon and evening of the kind of blackouts that plunged hundreds of thousands of California residents, including many in the Bay Area, Santa Cruz, Monterey and Stockton into darkness on Friday and Saturday. more here
…bet there’s no blackouts wherever Newsome is, just sayin’, you know, the same way his winery was magically spared the “covid shutdown”…

…blackouts are like masks, they’re just reminding you who’s boss, and how they can make you dance at the flip of a switch or the hint of a cough, you know, like they’re going to do with water, too…

insufficient generation availability + overloaded transmission lines = someones’ lights are going out.
Ahh just like in socialist Eastern Europe. Takes me back.
Enjoy what you voted for!
Shut down your power plants, go green, have heat stroke and die.
Tough shit. They voted for it.
One of the major problems you encounter when the renewable energy doesn’t renew,
Too many clouds, not enough wind. This event is completely unforeseeable in the eyes of Enviro weenies.
But be sure to keep that mask on!
Bless their heart
Governor Nuisance’s executive order is almost comical… He’s granting indulgences absolving people of the sin of running generators…

You’d be wrong. He lives in a golf community one ridge over. We can see their lights from our back yard. We got home form work Monday, 108, and are power was out. Serrano, where he lives power was on. Tuesday Serrano’s was out, are’s was on. But I’m sure he has a big ass Generac generator on his 6.5 mil house.
Here’s Gavin’s new shack. 5.5 mil. I was wrong above. Not bad for a guy that makes 200k a year.

…but are you sure he’s THERE? Guys like that usually have 6 or 8 mansions, not necessarily all in their name, and he could be in a different one where the power, for some reason, is ALWAYS on…
He still owns a 3 million dollar home in a high dollar are of Citrus Heights. It would be surrounds by bad areas. I keep hearing his brother gifted him that home. How the hell does that work? Anyway Aquifa and BLM showed up at his residence listed above and he had every law enforcement agency available out there stat. But I imagine he was a little nervous after that.
His new residence in Serrano is gated with an unarmed rent a cop security service. However I know that house because I use to belong to that club. It’s got about a 50 yard buffer and backs up to a busy street. A tactical pain in the ass.
He also owns a winery. Not bad for a public servant. Inside trading? WTF? It’s got to be criminal.
Rush just said these blackouts are from 93 degrees, try baking at 110 just about everyday for one straight month. I’d pay to see 93 again.
Miss Kitty
I live here and 93 degrees is bull shit. They usually start the rolling black out crap at about 105.
BB
Sorry about that, don’t know why Rush would put that out there, unless he’s talking about the average. Well at least we don’t live around Death Valley. 🥵
Miss Kitty
I no longer enjoy this plus 100 crap. It’s helping me talk the wife into giving Idaho a hard look for relocating to. We have lots of relatives in Phoenix and Scottsdale. No way.
