  1. I’m sorry. That guy is an idiot. He could have burned his entire house down.
    Fires are only effectively extinguished by depriving them of oxygen or fuel. Blowing on candles separates the heat of the flame from the VERY SMALL fuel source because the power of the air is so much greater than the heat of the small flame (and your breath is very low in oxygen….) That doesn’t really work with large fires. The Lahaina fires are a perfect example. The winds helped grow and spread the fires.
    How many of you have grown a fire in a fireplace by blowing air over it?…
