Chicago Tribune: A candidate running for Illinois attorney general was robbed at gunpoint while he was taking promotional photos for his campaign Thursday afternoon in the Northwest Side ward where he’s also the Democratic committeeman, according to his campaign manager and authorities.

Aaron Goldstein, 42, and several members of his campaign team were in the middle of taking publicity shots when the robbery happened, according to Goldstein’s campaign manager.

The robbery took place about 3:25 p.m. in the 4600 block of North Albany Avenue in Albany Park, when three men in their early 20s approached them, according to a law-enforcement source.

One of the men flashed a handgun and demanded the camera equipment and other personal belongings from the team, according to police. more here

  1. So an Democrat running for the job of AG for Illinois gets robbed in broad daylight by some of the more colorful members of Illinois society (to be fair, I’m assuming the coloful part but it’s a pretty good guess). That’s alost too good to be true. He’s lucky he wasn’t shot in the process. I wonder how he’ll be on crime if he gets elected.

I admit I laughed at this. And kinda hard, too, after I saw he was a democrat.

Me too MJA! I was delighted with the story, and thought to myself “it’s pay back time!”

  3. I hope that Aaron Goldstein deeply soul searches to find what he could have done to prevent these poor neighbors from deciding that was a good course of action.

He should try hard to prevent this from happening again. May I suggest a midnight free basketball program?

It’s just things, right? No one needs to get hurt over things. We can always get more things.

Anyone here who is against carrying, like the co-conspirator above who got smacked upside the head by reality this time, consider; whenever that statement is made in whatever vague way employed, that means the bad guys have not only some portable valuables but also the ID that has an address. And keys.

    Sleep well.

I’m predicting that if elected, (pretty good chance because he’s a dem) he will fight CCW tooth and nail “because of all the crime committed with handguns.”
