Capitol Police Accidentally Gave Evidence To House Hacking Suspect’s Defense Attorney

The Capitol Police turned over a trove of evidence in the alleged Imran Awan House cyberbreach and theft case to the defense attorneys when they were supposed to deliver it to prosecutors instead, according to court documents and a source.

And hours after The Daily Caller News Foundation asked prosecutors about the disclosure, Awan’s lawyer said he had learned of the forthcoming story from a source on Capitol Hill. TheDCNF had not told anyone other than prosecutors about it.

“The cop came to [Awan’s defense attorney] Chris Gowen’s office with a stack of papers … Then he came back and said, ‘I thought you guys were the other party.’ He was very, very angry. But Gowen made copies,” the source, who’s familiar with The Awans, told TheDCNF.  more

  1. I’ve met some pretty fuckin stupid Capitol Cops.

There was one named David (first name only – to protect the guilty) who, when a woman fainted awaiting admittance to a Committee room, picked her up in a “Fireman’s Carry” and smacked her head into the wall.
There was another, who on receiving a fire alarm – OPENED THE DOOR TO THE OFFICE! (feeding oxygen to the fire, by the way) and allowed what would have been a small trash fire to become a raging inferno – and then – AND THEN – wouldn’t allow us (the plumbers) to come up to the floor to turn off the sprinkler water which put out the fire and was flooding the 2 floors beneath. And then accused us of having turned off the wrong valve because the water didn’t stop immediately! I explained that there were pipes on 3 floors above which were full of water and draining through that sprinkler head. DUH!

So – this ain’t no surprise.

  2. Could be stupidity… but let’s face it, it’s Washington DC folks.
    There ain’t no coinky-dinks there.
    Accidentally-On-Purpose is more like it.
    Check the bank accounts.

  3. That’s one big rat that needs to be caged. I hope this foul up doesn’t let this scumbag slip the noose. He’s funneled who knows how much sensitive info to Pakistan among other crimes. Maybe it’s time one of theirs met with an accident.

  4. Considering Wasserman-Schultz’s brother is the Assistant Attorney in the DC office overseeing this case, I suspect it was no accident.

  5. By the way, how has DWS dodged any accountability for this travesty so far. She was up to her hair’s dipstick in corruption and espionage.

  6. Delivery cop was either a) paid off; b) a Muslim, or c) just following orders from higher-ups, and was a patsy.

  7. Close enough for government work.

    Conquest’s Third Law:

“The simplest way to explain the behavior of any bureaucratic organization is to assume that it is controlled by a cabal of its enemies.”

  8. “Accidentally”

Boy, the Awans must have some incredibly damaging dirt on not just DWS, but every Democrat in Congress. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have some on Republicans too. After all, they were burrowing where they didn’t belong. Who knows what kind of skeletons they’ve collected?

  9. Loyalty is bought and sold daily in Washington DC. by lobbyists, attorneys, corporations, associations, heavy hitters and criminals.

    Money talks, bullshit walks.
