Political scientist Carol Swain hit out at the Ivy League institution after it admitted there were ‘instances of inadequate citation’ in the president’s phD thesis but failed to take any further action.
She accused Gay of ‘harming academia’ and black people for refusing to resign.
‘My message to Harvard University is you don’t get to redefine what is plagiarism […] What they have done is very demeaning to every person not just racial and ethnic minorities, anyone who has worked hard in school, who has tried to follow the guidelines it is an insult to our intelligence,’ Swain said.
In a separate interview, Swain told City Journal that, ‘a white male would probably already be gone.’
Swain joins a growing number of critics calling for Gay’s resignation amid the fallout from her disastrous Congressional hearing, where she said calling for a Jewish genocide is permissible, depending on ‘context.’
An investigation by the Washington Free Post found that in four papers, including Gay’s doctoral dissertation, that were published between 1993 and 2017, she ‘paraphrased or quoted nearly 20 authors—including two of her colleagues in Harvard University’s department of government—without proper attribution,’
A probe launched by her own university found ‘instances of inadequate citation’ in her academic writings, although it stopped short of finding any ‘research misconduct.’
Harvard Corporation said a team of ‘distinguished political scientists’ reviewed Gay’s published works on December 9 but found ‘no violation’ of research standards.
Gay subsequently confirmed she would be submitting amendments to four articles.
Harvard, an Ivy League school… or more aptly, an 𝙄𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙚 school that looks down their noses at everyone. They don’t need no steenking ethics!

It is extremely difficult to get into Harvard and…well, that’s probably about it. Over the years I have met a lot of people who went to Harvard and wasn’t impressed. But you do get to put “Harvard” on your resume and you do get to meet and perhaps run in upper crust circles.

Academic rigor. The ONLY product education providers offer, a current and long history of ACADEMIC RIGOR. Those who can, do. Those who can’t do, teach. The line gets blurred when they drag doers in for lecture series or temporary gigs illuminating real life to the students. The unspoken third sentence in the saying is, ‘Those who can’t teach go into government.’
The whole of big time academia is infested with people who hide their complete lack of ability behind credentialing and a hysterically held political ideology of failure. This isn’t new either.
