MAGA Conservatives: During an appearance with Washington, D.C.’s 106.7 The Fan on Monday, Charles Barkley ripped cancel culture telling hosts Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouhier that Turner executives ordered him to end his long-running joke about San Antonio women on “Inside the NBA” a TV program on TBS/TNT.
“All we ever talk about behind the scenes now is, ‘Yo man, be careful going in this direction.’ We can’t even have fun anymore,” Barkley said. “We’ve had fun all these years, and now all of a sudden in the last year and a half, everybody’s trying to get everybody fired and it really sucks.”
“A lot of our bosses are cowards,” he added.
“They’re like, ‘Charles, we got one lady who wrote an article.’ I’m like, ‘First of all, I didn’t call anybody personally fat in San Antonio; I was just joking around.’ “We’ve been having fun with this for probably 10-15 years,” Barkley said. more here

As far as sports commentators go I mostly like like him. Granted, he’s pissed me off as well, but he is always ready to speak his mind. The Round Mound of Rebound, for a short fat guy he was a pretty good basketball player.
I once wrasled a female in San Antonio for three nights over a Memorial day weekend….She was an All-American from just north of Sacramento…..
I don’t watch basketball or the program he’s on.
It appears to me that Barkley has his head screwed on right.

The reason why so many extremely woke people turn out to have been bigoted in the past is because bigotry used to be the best way to bully and intimidate people, but now performative anti-bigotry is the best way to bully and intimidate people. An evolving toolset for sociopaths.
