Charlottesville Robert E. Lee Statue Melted Down

GP

The Charlottesville Black History Museum has decided the best way to handle America’s history is to destroy it.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that the museum secretly made the choice to melt the historic Robert E. Lee statue, which was the subject of the white nationalist “Unite the Right” rally six years ago. More

  1. “Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

  2. Hey, let’s pretend history never happened…

Talk about sticking your head in the sand….

I’m guessing it shows what our ‘colleges’ are turning out and their plan for turning this country into SHIT.

  3. I can’t let you know your history. If you did, you would notice I always repeat. My minions, the Communists, will make sure that with this and with teaching children contempt for their parents, that I ALWAYS have a fresh, foolish generation to play my same old tricks on.

  5. This act is no different from the Taliban blowing up the ancient Buddha statues in Afghanistan. The communists in our govt. can’t tolerate the memories of significant figures from our history, especially those that challenged the federal govt. By all accounts contemporary to him (including those on both sides of the War of Northern Aggression), Robert E. Lee was a man of great honesty, integrity and decency that embodied the constitutional ideals of a limited federal government with the states being relatively independent to make decisions that were best for their people.

Statues from our history remind people that our bloated and corrupt federal bureaucracy has far overstepped the bounds of the constitution, and that just can’t be tolerated by the swamp scum in DC lest the population realize that most of what our federal govt. does these days is immoral, criminal and unconstitutional. Statues of great leaders from our past remind people that the real power rightly lies with the people and the states, not some corrupt federal bureaucracy.

There truly is no difference between the taliban and followers of the progressive movement. Both are neanderfucks, worthless subhuman pieces of shit, incapable of progressing beyond the Stone Age.

  8. The same fucking lowlife subhuman pieces of shit responsible for this worship at the feet of a Vladimir Lenin statue they erected in Fremont area of Seattle. They have been for decades.

  9. If I did that to a George Floyd statue (or a pride flag) I would be charged with hate crimes and be pilloried. Meanwhile, the left continues to be as hateful and vindictive as possible.

  10. He was a Democrat, a secessionist, a mutineer who led troops against his former comrades at arms, and a traitor. It was Lincoln’s magnanimity that kept him and the other Confederate officers from the firing squad.

  11. @geeknerd – Just as I was, you were apparently taught the same BS about “The Civil War” (more accurately called the War of Northern Aggression”) that I was in school, but we were both mal-educated on the subject by our history teachers. I suggest reading the links below from the late, great Walter Williams (a conservative, black economist) to gain some accurate and valuable perspective on the subject.

Just as is happening today across America, people are waking up to the tyranny of our own govt. The confederate states were fighting against tyranny by a federal government that was actively violating the constitution and a president (Lincoln) that was trying to force the southern ports to pay increased excise taxes (which were already exorbitant and unfair – see “the Morrill tariff”) to fund most of the federal govt while the politically connected northern states avoided paying much toward the cost of government that favored them financially.

And while the article at this link covers some ground covered in the previous two links, this one succinctly sums up that people that consider Robert E. Lee a traitor don’t understand the history of the whole argument. Williams ends the article thusly:

“Confederate generals fought for independence from the Union just as George Washington fought for independence from Great Britain. Those who label Robert E. Lee and other Confederate generals as traitors might also label George Washington a traitor. Great Britain’s King George III and the British parliament would have agreed.”
