To paraphrase Jimmy Buffett:
“I wanna go back… to the 70’s”
I’m with Jimmy can we go back to 1978 please
Every show I saw, they blew away every band on the card
Saw them open for Blue Oyster Cult at the Capitol Center. Awesome show!
Cheap Trick Live at Budokan was what got me through high school!
My dear friend Cindi (RIP) and I spent hours cruising in her dad’s El Camino blasting that album.
I would love to be cruising with my friend again!

Cheap Trick never went away, they only got better.
I saw Cheap Trick with ACDC at Atlanta Symphony Hall in 1977…or was it 1978. Symphony Hall had fallen on hard times and was whoring itself out to rock bands. It was surreal to be smoking dope in the same place I’d been to a few years before on elementary school field trips. The 70’s…man, what an era. Anyway, ACDC blew then off the stage. I do remember that.
I wanna go back to before wireless communications. Freedom!
Saw them as openers a couple times in the 70s. Good shows.
I saw them in a small bar in Southern Wisconsin near some empty corn fields. Never heard of them before. To me it was just another freezing cold Saturday night with live music. The ceiling was low like in the second video. So on the stage he could reach the acoustic tiles and start flipping them off the ceiling as the night went on.
I believe the lead singer debuted his saxophone that evening.
They were alright. But pretty much all the live music was good back then. Garage band or not.
Anything from “daryls house” is excellent. Check out when Joe Walsh was there
