I’m an extremely amateur piper. I’ve piped at my father’s grave his every birthday and Father’s Day. I’ve piped for funerals and memorials. I piped at the side of a 2 day old baby’s grave once, then piped at his fathers’ funeral a decade later as he was laid to rest beside his son.
When its my own, I ask the permission on none but the Lord.
When its someone else’s kin, I ask them.
So to me, it’s whatever the French family wanted.
If they didn’t want it, I’d quietly step aside.
If they did, I’d block the hearse.
If I didn’t know, I would not increase their grief by making a scene.
That said, there’s nothing stopping a piper from piping outside the coroner’s office.
Or the office of Mayor Lightfoot.

All Mayor Lightfoot has is God’s standard grace which God bestows on both the good and the bad. She really needs God’s lavish grace given to those who are saved. I don’t like Chicago’s Mayor one damn bit but God’s amazing grace can even save an evil woman like her if she would accept him as her Lord and Savior, but that’s totally up to her and not to me. All we can do do is pray for her that she would see the light and change her wicked ways which is not easy to do because we all are sinners. From my own personal experience forgiveness can work unbelievable miracles, believe me and it drives the person that you’re truly forgiving nuts because they think that you’re a phony and don’t believe it. Until they do!
