Chlorine spill leaves 12 people, including children, in need of medical treatment

Over-chlorination in a lazy river in Texas appears to have caused 12 people, including children, to need medical attention, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Fire officials responded shortly before 5 p.m. local time Saturday to “a report of a chlorine spill with possible accidental ingestion in [the] lazy river pool area” at Club Westside, a private Houston sports club, the fire department said on Twitter. MORE

  1. I’ve always hated pools because the chemicals irritate my eyes. I always preferred the St.Clair river where Lake Huron empties.

Dumbest thing I ever saw at a water park was when we had to pick up this very fat, very pregnant multigravida who was past her due date but decided to go to a wave pool in bluejeans anyway, creating this whole denim sausage thing in labor with the wet denim and her huge belly that had to be cut off ’cause it wasn’t coming any other way.

    She kept the cork in to the hospital, tho, happily.

    Chlorine was the least of her problems.
