  1. This photo does illustrate the cognitive dissonance of far too many people today. Many of the same people that would rail on this woman for drinking and smoking while pregnant (or just for drinking and smoking even if she wasn’t pregnant) would be the first to claim it is her right to murder her own baby through abortion. Her body, her choice.

The worldview of most young people today is a harsh indictment of the “educational” system from k-12 all the way through post graduate degrees in most “fields of study”. They are no longer taught HOW to think, but rather WHAT to “think” in order to be accepted into the desired social circles..

Most of today’s younger generations are too dense to even realize how thoroughly they have been indoctrinated into leftist dogma and are unable to distinguish between actual education in a valid field of study and being brainwashed into a leftist worldview.

  2. I have been using this exact example for years. I actually witnessed this happen in a local gin mill in my town. There were several women.that were really upset and wanted the bartender to stop serving her. She said she was having an abortion the next day and they should stfu and mind their own business. They did.

  3. This is the conundrum.

-If it’s a clump of cells, what difference does it make?
-If it’s a baby, results of this behavior could be bad.
-Nevermind the baby, it’s bad for her.

-Let’s shame her to do what WE think she should do or be.
-Leave her alone, it’s her responsibility.
    -We need to legislate this.
    -We need to educate her.
    -We need to love her.

  4. We have a responsibility as an American society to provide freedom, opportunity, protection, research and information. Not control… unless you break the law, particularly when you harm others. Therin lies the rub. Where do you draw that line?

  5. “this” is the rub.

    personal freedom requires personal responsibility.

if someone is hell bent on destroying their lives and the their loves ones as well, they will do it, no matter what laws you pass.

our problem is we are not willing to let someone destroy themselves, we feel we need to provide for them, no matter if it’s food, shelter or rules for their social conduct, allowing them their social freedom meanwhile relieving them of their personal responsibility.

we have decided this is the charity spoken of in the bible. it truly is not.

stop relieving them of their personal responsibility and they will either disappear or stop their self destructive behavior with out any guidance from us busy bodies.

  6. And who says smoking and drinking harm your unborn baby?
“THEY” say. I would guess many of the people who respond on this site were born from a mother who drank and smoked. We grew up in a time when there was lead in the paint (good paint, too!) lead in the gasoline (ditto). Everybody smoked. Men who smoked and drank and grew up with lead paint put men on the moon using brains and slide rules and American ingenuity. Now our fanciest engineers seem to exist only to make our mobile phones run faster.
    This is progress?

  7. no, you don’t get it. There isn’t really any hypocrisy.

If a woman is pregnant and then smokes and drinks, and damages the ‘fetus’ and then goes full term and delivers a damaged baby, that is a drain on society and intentionally produces a non-productive worker and a probable non-voter.

If she smokes and drinks and just aborts the ‘fetus’ then no harm done.

    (according to the liberal mindset)

  8. Even the most casual student of fetal alcohol syndrome can tell that the TV reporter killer apparently suffered from FAS.

“Trouble with the law. Those born with FAS may have problems controlling anger and frustration, and problems understanding the motives of others. This may lead to violent behavior. As a result, teenagers and adults with FAS are more likely to be involved with the criminal justice system than their peers are. Also, those with FAS can be especially susceptible to persuasion and manipulation, which may lead to unwitting involvement in illegal activities.” – WebMD

Look around, any of the above sound familiar?

Does any of this sound like a good thing?
No, my mother never smoked nor drank, thankfully.
Mr. Mxyzptlk, more like Joe Btfsplk.

  9. I know someone who makes a living off of children who were born from a mother who drank alcohol while pregnant. The mother put the kid up for adoption, The foster parent made money off of the kid because the kid became a ward of the State. They took in 5 children who were mentally gone, but they lived high on the hog off the taxpayer. We pay either way.

  10. You win, as soon as you point out those drinking and smoking men who gave birth to healthy babies.
During the age of the slide rule, women weren’t engineers and didn’t smoke and drink as much.
Next you will try and tell me smoking doesn’t cause lung cancer.
Do you work for R. J. Reynolds or Jack Daniels?
Use of a straw man argument is a poor way to try and rebut.

  11. More power to her.

There was a picture of my Mom the night before she popped me out. It was at Christmas dinner. She had a ciggie in one hand and a highball in the other!

Other than the occasional tremors & twitching, I turned out just fine. 🙂

  12. I personally believe abortion is evil. It is murder. The important word or term is “sanctity”. The sanctity of life, not the quality of life. All life is precious and all lives matter. When you remove God from your society, life becomes……..arbitrary……..
