Those who are serious about their Christian faith are already armed, as going about armed was the last instruction Jesus gave his followers.
He was clear that the arm was for self defense, explaining that he would no longer be there to protect his flock.
Being armed is an obligation that goes with being a Christian.
You got that right–turning the other cheek only goes so far, in my book.
Turning the other cheek only applies to insults and provocations. Not violence.
Our Lord was anything but a pacifist. His actions against the money lenders in the church is but one example.
Far too many churches, preaching to people who have not bothered to sit down and read the New Testament in it’s entirety, present a false image of Christ as a pacifist.
From the Washington Post:
Ramsey’s call for Christians to arm themselves in the wake of a mass shooting drew rebuke from some of his colleagues in the Tennessee statehouse.
State Rep. Jon Ray Clemmons (D) [Demented moron] said in a statement that Ramsey’s comments “reek of fear-mongering and religious crusading.”
OMG! It’s the Crusades again! Run away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s true. Jesus was a powerful advocate for love and peace. He was NOT an advocate of being g a doormat, or being passive in the face of evil.
Matthew 10:34
‘Ye may not suppose that I came to put peace on the earth; I did not come to put peace, but a sword;
Pretty sure the Crusades were about the church finally stepping up and putting an end to world domination and slaughter by Islam, might be getting near that time again.
Full size wore me out. Found LCP to be the most pocket friendly. P238 was better shooter but bulkier. Beautiful little Sig, though.
Charl Van Wyk, a missionary in Africa, is the author of Shooting Back: the right and duty of self-defense. A book written after the St James Church massacre.
He is spot on target that all massacres occur in gun free zones.
I like an ankle rig. I can get to it easily seated, as in a car, and if the perp already has the drop on me I am not going to be able to unholster anything anyway.
Unholstering while standing requires two hands, but is just as fast as most concealed rigs. The under the armpit crossdraw is faster if your jacket is open.
The other advantage of the ankle rig, aside from almost never getting in the way unless you are riding a bicycle, is that it doesn’t print.
Equally clarifying, Van Wyk on –
Does self defense contradict Christian theology?
Yep, Jesus was not a pacifist and not a mealy mouth. He did some damage and some violent acts to the money lenders in the temple.
As a fat boy, I mostly wear bib overalls. (I blend in, with the East Tennessee population.) That is a problem for in the waist band rigs. This is my holster of choice and it works fine with jeans or slacks. I ordered it to fit a Sig P239 but, it is flexible enough to accommodate a small frame revolver.
Sorry, I’m not buying any holster that comes with direction on how to go to the bathroom while wearing it. It’s hard to beat a super stiff gun belt and a Bladetech holster.
