3. Port Arthur is, indeed, a $hithole. It wasn’t always that way. Yes, it is a major center of oil refining and chemical production, but that meant lots of good paying jobs. It is #2 on the list of most humid cities in America. The damn federal government settled loads of South Vietnamese there after the war was over. Many are still there, but they aren’t really the problem. Like New Orleans, Port Arthur has become a chocolate city. Shootings and stabbings every night. It’s Chicago’s Mini Me. Quite a few famous people came from there.
