Clueless – National Review Commissions William Kristol and Erick Erickson To Pen Essays Imploring Voters To DumpTrump

GantDaily

The issue features a blistering editorial that labels Trump a threat to conservatism, as well as essays by 22 prominent conservative thinkers from various ideological factions, in opposition to Trump’s candidacy.

“Donald Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot on behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as The Donald himself,” the editorial states.

!snip!

First they said he was a flash in the pan.

Then they said it wouldn’t last.

Then they said he’d shoot himself in the foot.

Now they are the ones shooting him in the head.

They should be angry at themselves for not having their finger on the pulse of the public. They’ve gotten so much wrong, yet they are going to write essays explaining how they know better.

  1. Do you really want to know what the threat to Conservatism is? Assholes that call themselves CONSERVATIVES!

    FUCK THE NATIONAL REVIEW!

  2. The GOPe elite wants a divorce from the base. I quit the party in 2014 when they gave Obama the crominbus. I haven’t gave a crap since then. A third party is the only sensible thing to do. I’m just surprised that it is the WHIGs…er GOPe that is pushing for it.

  3. WE HAVE a THIRD PARTY RIGHT NOW! It’s called TRUMP! Let’s not blow it!

  4. Trump is not the leader of a new party, this guy is no true believer in constitutional anything, he’s a chameleon and therefore cannot be trusted, he’s changed his position on everything except making money (which I admire), there are good things that I like about him and I will vote for him if he somehow defeats Cruz, but don’t be surprised when he turns on us and becomes the 4 time bankruptcy crony capitalist that he really is. He’s pro abortion, homosexual marriage, eminent domain etc etc.

The leopard doesn’t change his spots

It’s obvious that Ted Cruz is the one we need to get behind

  5. Oh goodie! I want to know the opinion of a clueless hack who knows nothing about what is going on any further than arm’s reach from some elitist’s ass. Tell me again why I am misguided to want a person to do what he says he is going to do like build a wall to keep future illegals out, boot the ones already here illegally out, broker deals putting this country first, and pause the suicidal notion of bringing in muslims who have avowed they only want to dominate the world? I am the crazy one? Go gaslight yourself. The verbal spew ain’t workin’ no more.

  6. You buy into that ASSinine 4 bankruptcies bullshit? Do you know HOW MANY businesses Trump started / owns? 4 bankruptcies is a FANTASTIC TRACK RECORD with the amount of businesses he runs.
Do you know how many bankruptcies Romney had? Look it up – you’ll be SHOCKED.
    STOP HELPING HILLARY / BERNIE!

  7. I’ve watched NRO get farther and farther into the pocket of the chamber over the last two election cycles.

Now I’m going to actively try to not only refrain from countering their nonsense with comments but also refrain from even going there to give them more web hits.

It was watching Bill Buckley take Gore Vidal to the floor during coverage of the conventions back in ’68 more than anything else that forever turned me to the right. Now I look at his legacy and literally weep.
