CNN: Women Can’t Conceal Guns Because They Wear Dresses

TRUTH REVOLT: A senior law enforcement analyst at CNN should’ve gotten into a lot of trouble for claiming women can’t carry concealed weapons because they wear dresses, but CNN is on an anti-gun high right now and doesn’t have time to pushback on #EverydaySexism.

 

Tom Fuentes argued against arming teachers because many of them are female and because of the clothing they wear, would be incapable of hiding a gun:

“A lot of these schools — Sandy Hook had an all-female faculty, from principal to teachers, and for a woman, where are you going to hide that gun during the day?

“You can’t put it in your desk drawer; somebody might steal it, you can’t get to it. You’re not going to have it in a safe in the principal’s office; you can’t get to it…

“If you wear a dress, if you wear a skirt, are you going to have to wear a jacket everyday with a belt and a holster, the way a detective on duty would do? It’s not a real practical solution for a variety of reasons.”

  4. This guy hasn’t been toa school recently. Most teachers stopped wearing dresses in the 90’s. Today they dress the same as the students: shirts hanging over jeans.

  10. Ludicrous ! Are they discouraging women from self defense?

    Personally, I’ve never considered a woman having breasts being limited to do what ever she wants (particularly if she protecting herself or her family).

  20. I remember a post with video here on IOTW several years ago a lot like the one that is in the linked article. It was a video of a woman with a bra holster (like Dianny alluded to above). This guy is an idiot but we already knew that since he is an “expert” on CNN.

  21. The problem with the purse holster or jacket holster is setting it down somewhere where someone can get it. Never liked that idea.
    Only one thing worse than being shot, being shot by your own gun.
    Gun-control means don’t let nobody else take it.

  30. Flash Bang, Sticky Holster, inside the thigh band, belly and back band, holster inside the pants or outside the pants, pocket holster other than a sticky, ankle holster and on and on and on. I like a Sticky Holster when I’m not wearing a belt.

    Oh heck If I had too I would wear a head band with the gun jammed in it.

  33. I remember a news article a few years ago about Israeli women will sometimes carry an Uzzi under their dress. They know how to use these with deadly force for self protection. A simple online search will show examples of how women can conceal carry, even with a dress. The female body and the loose dress allows for concealing in some cases weapons that would be difficult for men to do. If a woman is uncomfortable with firearms then she should not carry. For those women who are trained and comfortable with weapons, by all means let them do so. Stop being so sexist as to say they should not.
