  1. How many “vanilla” ice creams actually contain vanilla?
Breyers is the only one I can think of (no, they didn’t pay me to type this).

  2. Ignorance prevails. There are 30 flavor and fragrance companies in New Jersey with another 20 with representations there. Basically, every can, box or container of every food we consume contains flavors / fragrances from there. That’s the reason products have consistency throughout a brand. Even fast food hamburgers and other seemingly “natural” foods contain chemically produced flavoring. Flavorists are people who create the chemical products have extensive knowledge of chemistry and a highly developed sense of smell and taste. It’s a narrow field. They can create a liquid that tastes like most anything. It’s a quite interesting study.

  3. I hate frivolous law suits, but a company claiming pistachios and actually using “pistachio flavoring… a mixture of water, Ethanol, Propylene Glycol, natural and artificial flavor, Yellow 5 and Blue 1” seems deceptive. Especially when they market themselves as using the finest ingredients. Yuck.

  4. The judgment should be enough money for the plaintiff to buy a couple bags of pistachios to add to their ice cream.

Then watch them put ’em in shells and all!
