March 2015- Benedict College readies for President Obama’s visit.
President Barack Obama’s visit to Benedict College on Friday will bring attention to the private Columbia school and create memories for its 2,444 students.
“This probably will be one of the biggest moments of my life,” said Prathon Williams, a junior electrical engineering major from Fayetteville, N.C.
“It’s a very big deal,” Benedict President David Swinton said. “This is a historic event. I hope it means a lot to our prestige and credibility.”
“Everybody is talking about this on Facebook,” Myers said. “I’m so excited. This puts us on the map.”
Jaron Vanderhall, a junior from Dillon, said Obama’s visit is something students will talk about for years.
Benedict junior Williams likes that he gets a chance to hear from a president who, he says, has worked hard to better the nation’s youth and health care.
“He’s stuck to his guns,” Williams said. “He’s standing up for us.”
October 2019 – While Trump spoke at Benedict, students were told to stay in their dorms.
Asking students to stay in their dorms is a part of a safety plan Benedict College officials created alongside Secret Service, Benedict spokeswoman Kymm Hunter said in a statement. Classes were also canceled.
Benedict sophomore Nia Byas also said the campus was on “lockdown.” Other local media outlets have quoted Benedict College students saying they were asked not to leave their dorm rooms during the president’s visit.
“Sure, I would love to go to the event,” said Reese, who is neither a supporter nor an opponent of Trump’s. “Just to hear a sitting president, I wouldn’t want to miss that.”

Well to be fair Obama visited Benedict Arnold College.
This is really too bad. Not many people get to see or meet a sitting president. Most never get to see any U.S. president.
But the good news is that colleges and universities are helping the average American see just how badly the Left has taken them over. The faster they break, the quicker we can be to fix them. But first they have to be destroyed.
Even worse when you consider that Trump is among the 3 greatest Presidents.
A visit to a small otherwise un-noteworthy college
by a sitting President is to be regarded as
EXTRAORDINARY when the visitation is by a
Moslem Criminal Imposter Alien
rather than when by an
AMERICAN TAXPAYING CITIZEN ?!
