Colorado Governor’s “MeatOut Day” Met With “MeatIn Day” From Cattlemen

Gov. Jared Polis’ announcement of March 20 as MeatOut Day has sparked a beefy debate across the state.

On Tuesday, El Paso County became the 26th county to proclaim the same day as Meat In Day.

“I think what really punched our producers and livestock producers throughout the state is that this proclamation was excluding a product when most proclamations are celebrating a product,” said Erin Karney, the industry advancement director at the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association. “I think that’s really why producers throughout the state reacted the way they did.” More

  2. I’m going to say that since the democrats have pretty much screwed any possibility of natural resource development-type jobs in CO. ranching & dope growing (double intendre intendre) & tourism are all that’s left.

  3. Probably something Governor Gaybo’s husband came up with to garner more votes with the rough bunch of Vegatarians hanging around the Capital these days. He couldn’t get a real cattleman’s vote even if he promised to get divorced and undergo conversion therapy in Colorado Springs.
