   Now it’s a black couple with the man constantly whining someone stole his Old Spice (the woman) or Asian couples where the man knows more about skin care than the woman.

Beach Mom, I honestly thought the insinuation of the advertiser of using blacks exclusively in Old Spice ads in recent years was that a.) they were really in need of deodorants b.) it’s the only deodorant they can afford c.) only blacks would think the smell of Old Spice was all that desirable even when you dress them up and try to infer that these are upper income people with refined senses.

   Sort of like the advertising using Billy Dee Williams to sell Colt 45 as a suave choice for sophisticated taste. The whole “aspirational” angle of marketing to people you look down on.
