2019 Emmy – For your consideration

Using “Green Book” as a verb refers to a time before civil rights, during segregation.

Green Book – In 1962, Tony “Tony Lip” Vallelonga, a tough bouncer, is looking for work when his nightclub is closed for renovations. The most promising offer turns out to be the driver for the African-American classical pianist Don Shirley for a concert tour into the Deep South states. Although hardly enthused at working for a black man, Tony accepts the job and they begin their trek armed with The Negro Motorist Green Book, a travel guide for safe travel through America’s racial segregation. -IMDB

In other words, not voting for Trevor Noah is akin to you being a racist.

Disgusting.

  1. Green Book was for black people. This guy looks Puerto Rican.

Also, he’s saying DON’T green book this one. Which means, DON’T accept this guy for black people. He’s clearly a self loathing etc etc etc…

The point is, Emmys are for talent. Like, you need to be talented to win one. So…this guy is s.o.l.

  2. Didn’t even realize the meaning. I drive past that billboard every day coming home from work.
Trevor Noah is South African, I am sure he has about as much Caucasian blood as 0bama, and similarly ignores that part. I saw an early stand-up act, likely from a posting here, in which he was very appreciative of American capitalism and freedom. He has come a long way since then, unfortunately.

BTW the whole notion of the Green Book was a pretty cool one – I appreciate the challenge minorities had, not too long ago.

  3. He, himself, has been a racist race-baiter, an anti-semite and a liar concerning the treatment of white South African farmers. He he deserves nothing based on his identity. if he was funnier, his PR campaign wouldn’t have an air of desperation.
