Coming soon to your local university: Nap-ins!

MOTUS A.D.-  Two years ago James Madison University (Virginia) pioneered the Nap Nook: JMU has created the first ever “designated student napping center in a university setting.”

Perhaps this is a backlash against the move 15 years ago to eliminate their nap time in kindergarten. You know: like daylight savings time – cut the blanket off on one end and sew it on the other.

And now I see that Southern Illinois University is hosting “nap-ins” to “help students dream of diversity.”

  1. Another shock to the Snowflakes — when they eventually graduate and discover that Starbucks and McDonalds won’t offer paid employee Nap Time benefits.

  2. I HATED THOSE NAPS IN KINDERGARTEN!! BUT, I FOUND THAT THEY WERE THE BEST TIMES TO PRETEND YOU WERE ASLEEP, KEEP ONE EYE OPEN, AND WHEN THE COAST WAS CLEAR, SNEAK OUT AND RUN HOME!!

  3. Thirtysome years ago, SIU in Carbondale wasn’t quite so ridiculous, but the country wasn’t, either. I like naps, but nap time in the library? i took my naps in the worthless 101 classes every student is forced to waste money on… like Moral Decision or Creative Design. Come to think of it, SIU was ridiculous back then, too. Never mind.

  4. What the Bloody Hell?
There should be a book for Parents called: College Bullshit Guide. A College by College list of all the stupid shit going on at each college.
That would help parents decide on which college would least calcify the brain of their offspring.
Include things like, what college has:
Mandatory classes designed to oppress whitey by reminding him he’s evil.
Lesbian empowerment rallies with straight male derision speakers.
Global warming alarmist studies in buildings that are lit, heated and cooled.

  5. “Nap Centers. That sounds…racist.”

    What? Don’t see it.

They could make promotions based on people’s happiness increasing with every nap or something.

They could form a club and maybe call themselves The Happy Nappys !!

    Oh, wait..

  6. Nap centers? Don’t they have any highway overpasses? Bus stop benches? Tents in parks? I thought the reason taxpayers pay for college degrees, was to train college students in the practical uses of their newly minted degrees?
