9 Comments on Commissioners of Fine Arts Fired

  1. Chellie Pingree put out a video whining about the Commission not approving the East Wing ballroom
She doesn’t whine about anything that’s actually important
As far as I’m concerned this is just another useless layer of govt gone

  2. I worked for a local government that was a relative island of sanity in a sea of insanity in 200o when I started there. By the time I retired in 2025 the residents had climbed on the short bus to Wokesville and stopped voting for quality leadership.

There was a problem with “the homeless” dragging garbage out of receptacles and throwing it all over the place every night. I let the Public Works Director know that by talking to others at other jurisdictions and agencies that they experienced north of 90% reduction in that by using cans that were developed to address that problem.

He assigns it to the Solid Waste Manager and… and… and… and… We need to assemble a committee and do a study and put together a Plan. About a year and a half later the PW Director sticks his head in my cubicle and asks me how quickly the cans can be delivered. Two hours later I got back to him and told him six weeks after the company has a purchase order.

He drops the green flag and tells me to get them coming. So, I tells the company making the cans that if I don’t have art work to them by the fourth week to put the Cito logo on the wraps and call it good. Oh no, the Art Commission cannot approve anything that quickly and… and… and… well then it’s the City logo. Guess what? The City Communications Department drew up designs, they were approved and the Goddamn cans were being installed two weeks later and that problem that had been a terrible mess every morning was solved.

Basically, I was offered a big chunk of money to retire from a job I had loved, but could no longer stand and practically every other long time employee who just get shit done are either gone or hate the fucking job now, but won’t give the rotten fuckers the satisfaction of just quietly retiring.

It isn’t about getting a fucking thing done any longer it’s about the process and committees, meetings, Plans, more meetings, revised plans, buy off by the Arts Commission after meetings and studies and more meetings and round and round it goes and it’s a three ring cluster fuck with them giving each other awards and then using these awards that everyone gets just for showing up justifying even more of it and not a Goddamn thing gets done. By design.

Grifting the taxpayers’ money, to keep the dumpster fire from being noticed, is how Good(TM) people fight the Good(TM) fight.

  4. … and I had lunch with a City employee over the weekend and each time he goes into the lunch room it appears another man bun or green or blue haired nose ringer has been hired.

  5. State government:
After 10 years within State Government, I was offered an “Exempt” position, working at the pleasure of the Governor.
16 years later Governor Blagojevich (Dem) was elected.
I had the option to leave voluntarily or to be unceremoniously frog marched to my car by security, any personal items in my office would be returned to me within a week.
I was fortunate to have enough time in state service to retire. Other executives and managers in exempt positions didn’t fare as well.
