Conservatives For Hillary – IOTW Report

Conservatives For Hillary

Full disclosure. I spent an hour fisking this Moonbattery article and I scrapped it.

I can’t do it.

Moonbattery is one of my favorite sites of all-time. It was probably the first political site I visited most often on a regular basis.

I think I’ll give Blount time to think through this belief that a Hillary presidency is better than a Trump one.

70 Comments on Conservatives For Hillary

  1. People imagine what Trump may do, with their biased, fearful imaginations. We know what Killary would do. We have seen what 0bama has done. I share concern over how president Trump will act – but I still believe that he truly wants to make America great again, and I trust the GOP Congress to prevent him from doing anything damaging he may try to do. He’s not my ideal, but I think that with him or any of the other Republican candidates as president we will see a dramatic improvement in our lives.

  2. I feel that Moonbattery is generally bastion of common sense.
And while I also feel trepidation with having an unmanageable president, Blount has gone so far in his anti-Trump viewpoint that now he’s gone over the edge to the certain dark side. Too bad.

  3. What I find despicable in this stance is that someone could actually reward the Clintons with a presidency, for whatever reason, after knowing what we know about Bill and Hillary’s scandals.

This is beyond any derangement syndrome I have ever witnessed.
As I said, I am giving a wide berth to these folks so they can get their minds right.
If and when the time comes that they are seriously strategizing to reward 2 cretins like the Clintons with the highest position in the land, because of imagined fears of a Trump presidency, well… all bets will be off.

  4. I’m with BFH & holding my fire because a lot of these anti Trump bloggers have been good friends to me for a long time & I’m not gonna trash them just because we disagree on who should be the GOP nominee. In 2012 primary season, I blogged my objections to Rick Perry & Mitt Romney (islamocoddlers, both of them) but once we had a nominee I got on board. I will wait till we have a nominee before I pass judgement on any fellow righty bloggers. If, however, after we have a nominee I see conservative blogs urging people to vote Democrat then like BFH says, all bets are off.

  5. One thing that is consistently overlooked. When/if the economy improves in REAL time in REALITY, people tend to WANT to become self sufficient, because they CAN. I do exclude the professional leeches with that statement.

I believe many things resolve or lessen impact with a vastly improved economy. Abortion “excuses” are lessened, welfare lessened, food stamps lessened, medicaid lessened, etc. Excuses for such hideously corrupt programs ARE lessened.

Another thing – Trump has the record of a good CEO. Once upon a time, school board members toyed with the idea that school administrators would be much more effective in producing good education, if they were business men rather than come from the ranks of educators. I wish I would have had the foresight to work toward that concept, but unfortunately did not take that on also.

Phyllis Schlafly has 70 years of unwavering conservatism behind her. Levin who is in for Cruz even admitted his admiration for Ms. Schlafly. She gained my admiration and kindled my conservatism back when the Equal Rights Amendment was being crammed down our throats. She won.

    Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Trump.

  6. I have my doubts about Trump, but when Trump speaks about building a consensus in order to get his ideas implemented, I believe him. He has run large organizations, and he knows that to accomplish goals, he needs to convince other people to support him. Trump is many things, but he is not a fool. If elected President, Trump will be a force, but he will not be a dictator unlike what the current occupant of the White House aspires to.

I have no doubts about Hillary Clinton. She wants power at any cost, and is corrupt and amoral. She is also actively courting progressives in order to gain her party’s nomination, and will have to keep them happy. Sanders is a socialist fool who both ignores history and human nature (except catering to greed in order to get votes), and has done nothing of worth in his life.

If the general election comes down to Trump versus Hillary/Sanders, I see no way for anyone with conservative values to support the Democrat ticket.

  7. I have no clue at all as to what is driving these fatal cases of TDS. None. If it’s all for Cruz, that’s a hill I would not choose to die on as a blogger. Some of these guys have a tremendous lot to lose by threatening to support a Killary bid. Eric Erickson just lied his behind off about Trump and proudly proclaimed he would “NEVER” vote for Trump in the GE.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AccVV9oqDuE ….

Riddle me this: If Trump’s detractors have to actually lie about him in order for their bashing to make sense, what the heck does that mean? That’s one heaping bowl of deranged.

  8. BB — Uh hu. You beat me to it. I was going to answer my own question. Conservative, Inc. versus Americans.

I’m having a delightful time watching the political class moderate their public comments about Trump. Their misery is truly my delight.

CTH nailed it again last night when Sundance drilled down on the NV caucus returns (as far as can be), showing how a majority of those new caucus voters showed up for Trump — call them what you will — “silent majority”, “Reagan Democrats”, etc. It really does show, I believe, that Trump is building a coalition of the like-minded from across the political spectrum who just want to be free of gov’t, have the opportunity to earn a good living, have a comfortable, happy life and just be left alone. But that’s not good enough for the likes of Moonbattery, EE, Levin and others. Sounds good enough to me!

  9. 10,000 NV Demonrat
    75,000 NV Republican …

    251,000 NH Demonrats
    285,000 NH Republican …

    1,400 IA Demonrats
    187,000 IA Republicans …

    Look to the gross numbers

The socialists have got to be shittin bricks.

  10. The article doesn’t read the same to me as it does to some here.
I think it served its purpose by exposing the venom and vitriol of Ttrumps Brownshirts.
I will admit that the constant caterwauling, defamation, and name calling by Trump supporters when shouting down an idea reminds me of what the left is doing on todays campuses and makes me hesitant to say good things about the man in public.
After all, he asks his supporters to do this kind of thing, so this is who he is and what he wants.

  11. JohnS — You’ve NEVER said any “good things” in public (or here) about Trump.

Pardon me for my vitriol, but your comments are darn close to the crying Sanders girl of FB fame.

  12. JohnS,
The venom and vitriol of Trump Brownshirts???

You had a major publication collate 23 writers to attack Trump.
Because they used big words they aren’t Brownshirts?

I challenge the people suffering from TDS to name the left-wing policies Trump is saying he will implement.

It’s not enough to say… b.b.bb.b.b.b.b.b.bbbbbbuttttttt he used to say this, he used to say that.

    What is he saying now???

And what is he saying now that is causing you to hope and wish for a Hillary or Bernie presidency?

I am waiting to see who will carry through with this Hillary wish when the time comes, because that is some heavy duty assholishness- putting a left-winger, who has blood on her hands, into the office of the presidency because you “think” Trump “might” have leftist tendencies.
    Wow.
    I’m trying my hardest… must not…. don’t.. write…. STOP.

You have to be some sort of deranged lunatic to proceed with that plan because your preferred guy didn’t win the primary.

It is indefensible on an intellectual level.

Of course it’s defensible on an anti-intellectual level, an emotional level, a quite emotional level.

  13. Right-wing TDS sufferers,
What is it that bothers you so?
Stop me when I get to it.

    – Building a wall
    – deporting illegals
    – pausing settlements and placements of Muslim refugees
    – destroying ISIS with every means available
    – dismantling Common Core
    – Tax reform and dismantling the IRS
    – rebuilding the military
    – rebuilding the VA
    – cutting deals with trade agreements that favor America
    – implementing policies that will make it more attractive for companies to do business in America
    – defending 2A
    -defending Christians

Where are the progressive ideas?? Don’t see them.

I’ve heard various gibberish from anti-Trump people that goes like this —

“He can’t do any of these things, anyway.”

Wouldn’t that be true of every candidate running for office? Why is it you think Cruz can build a wall, but Trump can’t? Or Rubio changing tax laws, or Cruz repealing Obamacare, or deporting illegals.

    “I don’t think he’ll be doing these things, I don’t believe him.”

So you’re going to vote for Hillary, someone that’s telling you to your face that you’re an asshole. Gotcha. You smart.

“Trump declared bankruptcy on 4 different businesses.”
Really? I had no idea. I’M VOTING FOR BERNIE SANDERS!!!

“Trump is mean and he says mean things.”

Who cares?? I find the things Hillary and Bernie says to be meaner, nastier and more dangerous to America.

    “Trump is an asshole.”

The left thought Reagan was an asshole. They still think he was an asshole. They think everyone that’s not on board with progressivism is an asshole.

So what if Trump is an asshole?

    It doesn’t matter to me.

I’d be a moron if I voted for Hillary because I thought Ted Cruz was an asshole, wouldn’t I?

What is Cruz offering that is significantly different from the Trump platform??

What is Trump offering that is significantly progressive compared to Cruz??

AND PLEASE DON”T GO BACK TO THE “I DON’T BELIEVE HIM” REASONING.

You all sound slightly sluggish when you say ” I don’t think the guy promising me right-wing policy is going to do what he says, I’m fearful he might be left-wing, so I’m going to vote for the known left-wingers.”

I’m really, really worrying about a lot of you.

  14. Don’t worry, Fur. It will be hard to lose some old friends but the kind of coalition that Trump is bringing together will more than make up for those who think they are making some sort of crazy stand for their ideological purity by voting for Killery.

At some point, for some sooner than later, continuing to argue with this stubborn obtuseness is genuinely futile. They are not looking for facts, reason and appeal to reason. They know what they know and nothing will budge them.

My hope is that if Trump is the “R” candidate, people will have an opportunity to see the real differences between his plans and the “D”s plans. It would be hard to avoid the stark differences.

  15. Ive loved Moonbattery since I found him yrs ago,Sadly I too have passed by his site for the most part since his Trump bashing has gotten worse,To vote for killery because of a hurt butt about him seems nuts to me.I agree with you totally BFH

  16. Nicely reasoned, Fur. Some rare common sense in this comments section.

Let’s keep going. How about this Trump gem…

The repatriation of TRILLIONS of dollars cooling on the bank shelves of nations that aren’t America due to our loathsome corporate tax rates?

Doesn’t it make sense that a country with $20 TRILLION in debt have a tax holiday to bring back a sum equal to at least half of that amount? You know, back into OUR OWN COUNTRY?

This is one of those quick-hitters he could pull off right out of the box, give the whole congress equal credit for the win, show the whole world the example of leadership on a massive scale, and jump start the shit out of our economy without costing you or I a FRIGGIN’ DIME!!!

This, friends, is what I believe when I hear Donald speak.

I cannot FRIGGIN’ WAIT until he’s our leader.

Shit, is some ways, he already is!

  17. The problem with the TDS people is during head to head debates with Hillary, if Trump secures the nomination, they will be hoping Trump slips up and they will be critiquing Trump harshly, just to say “I told you so.”

They say Trump has a big ego…

  18. He slipped up last night. Tsunami and I caught it.

    “I love uneducated people”

Laughed my ass off. I’m shocked it wasn’t all over the news.

Sometimes his mouth is way out in front of his brain. A positive quality in a world of carefully orchestrated bull shit.

  19. Oh ho! Fur, you just said a mouthful in that last sentence. Scott Adams has a piece today on Trump’s narcissism. Worth a read.

Honestly, I’m completely past caring about Trump’s detractors. They either get on the bus or they don’t. I think what makes them so enraged about Trump and his supporters is that we just do not care about what they say. We don’t care. And in that case Aggie is right — it’s a case of blustering superiority in an echo chamber that will soon be hermetically sealed. Then what? It’ll take a long time for any of them to regain their standing, if they ever do.

  20. BB — Taken in context of other things he’s said about “uneducated people”, he means those who make their livings with their hands — drywallers, plumbers, framers, steel guys — versus lawyers, engineers, doctors…

He’s just horrifyingly artless sometimes — love it!

  21. Trump haters are elitists and either don’t recognize it or refuse to admit it. They are easily offended by his language, so called lack of sophistication, and a fear of the wrecking ball approach to taking down establishment strongholds.
Elitist “moderate conservatives” actually think these reasons justify voting for Hellary or Bern America. Either one of those old guard cadre will politely frog boil everything this country represents if elected president.

  22. Well, no one believes me, but I’m not ON the Trump bus. I’m running alongside it.
I don’t see Trump as a super villain, and
I also have no problem with a Cruz presidency.

I understand that they represent two very different sorts of candidate.
They don’t differ on policy as much as the anti-Trump people think.
They differ on background, demeanor, style.

Trump requires a leap of faith, and I understand that concern fully.

Some people are not willing to make that leap.

There’s still plenty of time for the people suffering from TDS to perhaps see Trump in a head-to-head debate with Hillary or Sanders.

Maybe that will be enough Scared Straight therapy.
    We’ll see.

  23. I would never vote for Hillary or Sanders.
I am looking at all the candidates with a critical eye. A couple of weeks back I got hammered here for saying Cruz sounded weak on an issue.
My opinion of Trump has declined from accepting to very concerned. There are no guarantees, but usually when a charismatic person surrounds himself with people that forcefully resist any contrary ideas the end result is far from positive.
So, for those who prefer insults to conversation due to having nothing to say, carry on. Maybe enough people will still hang around you and yours to get the guy over the top. Maybe you will drive too many away for him to succeed.
    Only time will tell.

  24. Maybe Donald’s past hob-knobbing with Dems makes him better able to interact with them as President.

We have an ex-con on our Security Staff. Not only because of WHO he knows, but because of WHAT he knows. I guarantee he’s keeping us safer than a snot-nosed kid fresh out of college with a Criminology degree.

Who better to protect your Wireless Network than a former hacker.

    Trust me. 🙂

  25. So Blount thinks voting for the Butcher of Benghazi makes more sense than voting for Donald Trump? Hmph. If Killary were the ONLY name on the ballot come November, I would write in Dog Feces and put a check mark next to that.

I lean more Cruz, but Trump is a close second. I want whoever will beat Hillary and end this Leftist slide we’ve had for the past seven years. Simple, no?

  26. Folks,

Try taking a break from here sometimes.

Trump is a proud, full-throated American. So is Cruz. So is Rubio. So are Kasich, and Carson. We have an embarrassment of riches this go-around.

But consider. Posting here too frequently occasionally results in a non-stop stream of weak-ass posts. Such as when you suggest that you might pull the lever for Sanders, for instance. Or God forbid, GodZillary.

I’ve been posting around here damn near as long as many of you have (though not nearly as incessantly) and the quality of the collective material has recently deteriorated. Ask yourself, Are you well? Perhaps it’s Trump Derangement Syndrome.

But if, after you pull for Sanders, it brings you comfort what a perfect “Conservative” you are, enjoy your Thorazine and your straight jacket slumber.

Get better. Soon. We need you.

  27. With Hillary, we can pretty much assume that the demise of America would be greatly accelerated. Obama furnished the coffin – Hillary would simply be the nails in the lid. Perhaps it’s best to go with Hillary, as the faster we destroy America, the sooner we can start to rebuild.

Trump, on the other hand, would simply delay the inevitable collapse. Yes, “Make America Great” sounds…..great. But the damage done by progressives over the past decades is irreversible and inoperable. We can

I only hope that all this anger and bitterness between Trump and Cruz supporters will not prevent one side from supporting the eventual winner. Personally, I don’t understand the support behind Trump, but the fact that someone could actually support Hillary is amazing beyond belief.

  28. First, to be clear, I will never vote for HIllary or Sanders. If Trump is the nominee I *think* will vote for him, holding my nose and suppressing my vomit. Clear on that? Good.

I was listenting to Trump yesterday go on and on about something in that grating, annoying voice of his, and I thought, “oh,god. I’ll have to keep using the mute button. I was hoping with Obama gone I would be able to listen again, but I cannot listen to Trump.

And Fur, you deny being on the Trump bandwagon, but you are. I don’t see challenges to Trump supporters like I see you challenging Curz or Rubio supporters. And no, Fur, I do not believe a word the man says. But since he doesn’t need people like me, that’s not a problem, right? Honestly, I think I find his supporters more offensive than Trump himself, and that is saying something. I so wanted a conservative president this time – one with class and courage, who would try unite the country instead of dividing it. How will Trump unite us if he keeps insulting and suing people? I don’t want someone who will roll over, but I think one can display courage and integrity without insulting people.

I think the Trump Derangement Syndrome is not about those who oppose Trump, but those who support him. I haven’t seen anything like it since Obama first came on the scene. They will “Trumpsplain” away anything he says that might be wrong or offensive. They constantly tell us what “he really meant.” They will listen to NOTHING against the man. They insult people who have genuine concerns about the man. All the while, they are doing all the things they accuse others of. There is not one thing in Trump’s past that is conservative. But we are all supposed to shut up and sit down when we point this out. Ms. Tolstoy, above, (and yes, I know who I am) thinks Trump doesn’t need people such as me. Fine. You’re probably right. He’ll get enough support from the left, as that is where his history lies. And we will get 4 more years of leftist policies.

  29. BB What China has done, selling at a loss to take market share then expecting to capitalize on it has failed every time it has been tried. not long back Japan almost destroyed their economy doing it, and the Chinese house of cards is already falling on it’s own.
The only thing Trump will gain by trying to get credit for the inevitable is war.
Just as Japan attacked us when we shoved them up against a wall by cutting off their energy supplies, if China can blame us when they crash (and it is coming real soon) they will attack us.
Reagan was brilliant with the way he and his advisors handled the failure of the CCCP. Had he been a lout there would have been war in Europe and possibly an attack on Alaska.

  30. Why would anyone think Cruz supporters would vote for Donald Trump when Trumps whole focus has been to trash Ted Cruz and paint him as a nasty person when Cruz is an honorable man who has never said one unkind word about Trump and who has kept every promise he made to the Texans he represents. Sorry but Trump doesn’t deserve and will not get our votes and you can take that any way you want I don’t care.

  31. JohnS :
That’s not why China’s economy is failing. Not to mention, what China is doing with their currency is only about 25% of the issue.
China is failing because disposable income in the U.S., their market, is at an all time low thanks to 16 years of incompetent ass holes running the country.
As far as war with China, that wouldn’t last long. And they know it. It will be even shorter after Trump rebuilds the military.

  32. BOOM,
If you were slightly dumber you would require watering.
Do you have kids? Grand-kids? So you get butt hurt and your gonna show us by voting for a socialist?

    You’re a big thinker aren’t you?

  33. BB look at the historical precedents.
Then ask yourself why a cash rich economy like China (check into how many billionaires they have) is almost entirely dependent upon exports.
There is a reason the Chinese do not buy Chinese goods and services.
When you understand that reason, you will understand the situation.
I should also point out that our economy is getting cash rich also due to the QE actions. Doesn’t bode well for us either.

  34. BB;
I am just a kid, at 61 barely approaching middle age.
So, even though just an infant at the time, I was there when the things I discussed happened.
I appreciate knowledge from my elders, and I don’t view you as an exception.
Please educate me so that when I achieve your age I will be as knowledgeable as you are.

  35. Riverlife said…I think the Trump Derangement Syndrome is not about those who oppose Trump, but those who support him. I haven’t seen anything like it since Obama first came on the scene. I see the exact opposite happening, It’s like living in an alternate universe

    and you said……

There is not one thing in Trump’s past that is conservative. But we are all supposed to shut up and sit down when we point this out…….Trump doesn’t need people such as me. Fine. You’re probably right. He’ll get enough support from the left, as that is where his history lies. And we will get 4 more years of leftist policies…..

Proving my first point because this is total fiction and wishful thinking to justify your position.

  36. I am a life-long conservative republican and a big fan of Marco Rubio. Given the reality, I plan on voting for Hillary.

I have the conservatives4hillary.com domain and was wondering if anyone is interested in purchasing this.

    Thank you.

  37. HAHAHAHHA

    Way to start my day.

What complete bullshit in the head of Alan Miller.

You have a really good mind-fuck going on in that head.

Alan – take a good look in the mirror. That is not a conservative you’re looking at.

My God the stupid is strong in this one.

Gosh, I wonder why anyone would sell such an “obvious” money-maker like conservatives4hillery.com?

You’re a democrat, whether you know it, admit it or not.

If you really believe what you wrote, you have circled around and bit your own tail.

    What’s next, you’re a woman-hating lesbian Christo-Muslim trapped in a man’s body?
