Consumer Reports Gives Tesla And Other Electric Vehicles Bottom Ratings On Reliability

Earlier today, Consumer Reports 2021 Reliability Report came out. It wasn’t exactly a glowing review for Tesla, who ended almost dead last. Reuters says that during a presentation earlier on Thursday, Fisher commented on electric vehicle reliability. More specifically, he noted that electric SUVs were among the least reliable group. “Electric SUVs as a vehicle category is the absolute bottom in terms of reliability,” he said. More

  1. Consumer reports is pay-to-play, they suck. They also struggle with categorizing vehicles, for example, they ding Jeep wranglers points because it has a “rough ride.” Yeah no shit, people don’t buy wranglers to smoothly drive down the highway, but consumer reports struggles with quantifying aspects like this.

  3. The last magazine I have (Mar 2021) C.R. Recommended the Model 3.
Obviously they have an Agenda that they are not disclosing.

I can’t stand the way the rate Subaru Outbacks as, not as fuel efficient as Honda Accord & Camry. The vehicles are raised, with heavier tires and All Wheel Drive.

The Pick up Truck Reviews are also out in left field and they do not even touch Full Sized Vans which when you thing about it would really help Fleet Managers & small independent couriers.

  4. Drove to/from the eastside to West Seattle today. Prius drivers are the worst in every way. Tesla drivers run a pretty close second.

Prius drivers have a death grip on the wheel while driving in the passing lane 12 miles under the speed limit. Tesla drivers are distracted lane drifters who are texting or playing video games behind the wheel. There’s an infestation of both out here.

  5. Hey Jhone, there is a site called ‘the other 98%’ that you should check out. They seem to have quite a few unemployed commenters who can’t go to work for $15/hr because it isn’t a living wage. Don’t know if what you’re offering would meet their needs but it’s worth a shot. Why don’t you try trolling over there? Let us know how you do.

  6. When Consumer Reports first reviewed the Tesla Model S, they gave it a perfect rating, the first and only perfect rating they’ve ever given.

This despite the fact that the J.D. Powers quality survey noted it had the highest defect-rate of any vehicle being made at the time.

So, I guess the old adage is true…”The more things change, the more they stay the same.”

  7. My boss at work praised Tesla and was so into it. Well, we had Hurricane IDA in NY Metro area and his car received too much water and it went to the scrap yard!! Do you believe?!? How naïve people are for falling for this crap! So sad.

    Say your prayers everyday!

    God Bless us all!
