Actually rather disgusts me the way juice is promoted – even without this new scare. Bottled juice removes fiber and is really nothing but liquid sugar in pretty colors. And “100% juice” means squat.
When my son was small I’d instructed his pre-school he could only have juice on Fridays, and at first they went along, until I was notified one day I needed a note from a doctor for them to be able to follow my instructions (I was just the mother). Because Juneau contributed to the school’s funding, all parents, even ones who didn’t get daycare assist, had to go along with whatever menu the school had, which was dictated by Juneau. (Allergy cases were exceptions.)
I did have to get a stupid doctor’s note, but in the waiting time before the appointment the director told the teacher quietly in front of me, “Just give the kid water or milk, he likes it anyway.” She thought the rule was ridiculous as well.
Tomorrow another expert is going to tell us why we should consume these metals. For 30 years I’ve been reading about how we should avoid processed meats because of nitrates and nitrites. Just read up on health benefits of beets. # 1 reason we should eat beats is because they contain nitrates and nitrites…
…it’s all just chemically stripped grape juice anyway no matter WHAT kind of juice it’s SUPPOSED to be. They take out the color and the flavor, leaving basically sugar water, but THAT way they DON’T have to say they ADDED sugar.
..just eat an apple instead…

I wondered my kid always sets off the metal-detector at the airport.
MY THROAT HURTS EATING APPLES…it also constricts making my voice change a little bit.
I know it’s Malathion because my father used to spray our fruit tress with it when I was a kid, and I couldn’t eat those either.
You should NOT ever eat the skin of an apple, but it’s soaked in so many chemicals, even after peeling, I still can eat them.
I have not eaten a commercial apple or apple juice in about 30 years.
I’m having Hawaiian Sun Mango-Orange drink on a beach right now. Not sure if it’s classified as a juice. Added copious amount of vodka just to be safe.
