Crowds on Demand Actors in Charlottesville?

Trump ignited a political firestorm yesterday during an impromptu press conference in which he said there was “blame on both sides” for the tragic events that occurred in Charlottesville over the weekend.

Now, the discovery of a craigslist ad posted last Monday, almost a full week before the Charlottesville protests, is raising new questions over whether paid protesters were sourced by a Los Angeles based “public relations firm specializing in innovative events” to serve as agitators in counterprotests.

The ad was posted by a company called “Crowds on Demand” and offered $25 per hour to “actors and photographers” to participate in events in the “Charlotte, NC area.”  While the ad didn’t explicitly define a role to be filled by its crowd of “actors and photographers” it did ask applicants to comment on whether they were “ok with participating in peaceful protests.” Here is the text from the ad:

Actors and Photographers Wanted in Charlotte

Crowds on Demand, a Los Angeles-based Public Relations firm specializing in innovative events, is looking for enthusiastic actors and photographers in the Charlotte, NC area to participate in our events. Our events include everything from rallies to protests to corporate PR stunts to celebrity scenes. The biggest qualification is enthusiasm, a “can-do” spirit. Pay will vary by event but typically is $25+ per hour plus reimbursements for gas/parking/Uber/public transit.

It’s sad that they can skate in the media with their deceptive practices in this once free country. The leftist ruling class shows no limits in their treachery to take on power.

  18. Busing people in from a couple hundred miles away has a number of advantages:

    1. Complete herd control with no wandering off. They can’t go AWOL when you’re their only transport back home.
    2. Their faces aren’t known to local cops, which gives “protestors ” a false sense of anonymity.
    3. They have no local allegiances. Their assigned targets aren’t recent classmates or future coworkers, or family.
    4. Easier to convince participants they will be safely out of jurisdiction once they return home, which reinforces #2.

  19. WOW…. this is a whole new level of stupid. Do any of you REALLY believe that you’d have to pay people to drum up a protest of Nazis, real, honest to God Nazis… in a COLLEGE TOWN!!!!! LOL!!!! Seriously, it’s a college town, full of liberal arts students. NAZIS!!!! LOL!

  23. My point is, you don’t have to pay if you want college kids to protest Nazis… just mention to college kids that there will be Nazis, they’ll do the protesting all on their own.

  24. They don’t want kids to just protest. They want people ready to participate in full all out thuggery. Oh and even though CNN and MSNBC and the rest of the left media didn’t want to show it, Project Veritas already bagged a DNC operative bragging about paying for people to show up at Trump rallies and cause trouble during the election.

    Also its been proven that BLM and Antifa have had their thugs bussed in to certain areas to help cause trouble. Most of the rioters in Ferguson, Baltimore, Berkeley etc were not locals, they were from out of town if not from outta state.

  27. RightWinger- Occupy did the same thing. There was some poor fool protester self-chained to a fence on airport property in Las Vegas. It was hilarious. handful of friends got bored and left after 10 days leaving him alone. He eventually left because people passing by were making fun of him. lol

  30. @Petrus, I think Nazis in the streets SHOULD cause unrest and I don’t think the money was necessary but if someone wanted to throw their money around like that, fine. Didn’t Citizens United rule that money = speech?

    IMO, “I’ll beat you with a club because you’re black, brown, a Jew, an immigrant, etc…. and I don’t care if you’re a man, a woman or a child” IS A LOT WORSE THAN, “I’ll beat you with a club if you’re an Alt-Right piece of shit Nazi, KKK member or white supremacist.”
