Bookings for cruises are already on the rise of 2021, according to multiple indicators, despite multiple outbreaks of COVID-19 on cruise ships in 2020.
In the past 45 days as multiple cruise ships had serious COVID-19 outbreaks onboard and, in many cases, were stranded for days before finding a place willing to let them dock and offload passengers, CruiseCompete.com saw a 40% increase in its 2021 cruise bookings compared to 2019, the company told the Los Angeles Times. Proving you can’t fix stupid. And if another outbreak occurs the ship should be torpedoed.
Does anyone else believe this news, what do you think these cruise services are going to say, “Oh no, no one is booking – out of fear.” then watch their business roll over and go under for the third and final time?
There are those who learn from hardship and learn a great lesson.
Espec. the Older generations (pre soy boy)
Then there are those who absolutely stick their finger in the light socket over and over again. They always learn the wrong thing.
Speaking of cruise ships,
It’s hard to imagine a more ideal place with the most at risk occupant group for the coronavirus to propagate itself and inflict maximum harm on people.
Much worse than any city environment, IMO.
So why is no one talking about the overall numbers involved in the cruise ship quarantines when preaching its dangers to the public?
Or are they and I’m just not hearing them?
How are they going to go cruise when they won’t be allowed to leave their houses? Nitwits.
Could be that rational people are doing their own personal math and deeply discounting the media scaremongering. I like cruises and may go again one day, even though I caught Norwalk virus on my second cruise twenty years ago. I’m more afraid of Norwalk and Captain Schettino than Wuhan Flu.
Maybe real. Maybe fake as hell.
Imagine staterooms booked every other room and narrow hallways made one way and meal times stretched double time with limited snacking, closed pools and no ports of call and limited activities with bookings offered at 50% off and strips of tape every 6 feet. Cruise lines would go bust.
Rent a camper instead, gas is going down.
Just be careful out on the road, because of those liberal ‘Race with the Devil’ zombies you might run into.

Oh, and the CV-19 State checkpoints.
Sure, you’re basically stuck on a large floating petri dish. But look at these bargains!
People are making rational choices in a free market. Each person reserve a room is calculating their risk of contracting and dying COVID-19 against the discounts (I’m assuming) the cruise industry is offering.
Kind of a morbid way to look at it, but at some point in the 14th century, after the black death had burned through the cities, those in the country side, who no longer wanted to be peasants, made a similar calculation to crowd back into the cities and chance getting the plague. If they waited too long they may have never been able to escape their feudal lords in the country.
Maybe ppl are spending that sweet stimulus check. No really!
Just checked my bank acct and the IRS actually direct deposited the stimulus payment today. First time ever I haven’t been excited or pleased to receive money back from the govt.
I know many are hurting and in desperate need of this money, but many others are not in the same boat.
Our household has not been laid off (for now anyway), telecommuting, so we didn’t file for unemployment.
This stimulus is being sent to everyone regardless.
It’s a haphazard, careless way to handle this and sure enough we’ll ALL (and our kids/grandkids) will be on the hook for this for years to come.
Booking as I post, you are all cowards!
All your base are belong to us!
Forget the Xingping virus, what about the mass food poisonings?
Every freaking year.
Irate Nate is a moroon!
LOL @ Gil.

40% increase? They had five bookings in all of 2021 and now they have seven?
It’s a virtual cruise. Just pretend while you sit in you’re kiddy pool with a balloon!
Marriot keeps calling to give me a ‘free’ stay.
Anyone know how many times you have to “press 2 to be put on our do not call list” before they quit calling? It’s been 17 so far…
Are hotels doing as badly as cruise lines?
