CTH’s Sundance Discusses His Trip to Washington DC

The Conservative Treehouse

Here are some interesting insights he gives:

“Somewhere are 90% of every thought, word, deed and action, as well as tone therein, is bitterly against President Trump’s perspectives, policies and intentions for government reform. In term-1 and prior visits that percentage was likely around 75%. The current scale of opposition is actually stunning albeit not surprising. However, it does give you an idea of how impossible it is for a MAGA-minded political official to live, work and even breathe in the environment.”

“I often think about the level of mental fortitude it would take to exist in this environment of constant probing attacks because it helps to remind me how strong President Donald J Trump really is. [I have my wrist stopwatch timed to spend 47 minutes in focused prayer and thankfulness each evening before bed, for exactly that reason.]”

“What we may be noticing, via the absence of the success or progress many people desire, is not a disinterest by Trump to achieve the goals of silo reform amid some of the most historically challenging agencies (DOJ, FBI, etc.), but rather the inability or incompetence of the best option Trump had to get it done. I do not assign or target frustration toward President Trump; I direct my ire toward the cabinet officials and their decision-making.”

Sundance then rates the effectiveness of these officials. Very interesting comments.

This is an excellent post from Sundance. Please read it HERE.

  1. I’ll definitely read this, but it takes fortitude to get through Sundance’s deep dives. I have a bias against his overuse of the word “silo”. It reminds me of my 90’s days at Gigantic Software Company in Redmond. Silo was a word used at least as often as “paradigm shift” and “hot link”.

  2. @Uncle Al — Thanks for the link. CTH isn’t on my daily reading list. I think he lost me a ways back when he started writing stuff that seemed way too authoritive and “out there”. It’s probably my pea brain that prevents me from “GO(ING) DEEP” on his subjects. I do admire his perseverance, even when his layered approach eludes me. I’m more of a give-it-to-me-straight, Occam’s Razor sort of a gal.

  3. I don’t get his initial words “Somewhere are”. Where is that?

    I modified the quote:

Somewhere are 90% of every thought, word, deed and action, as well as tone therein, is TOTALLY FOR President Trump’s perspectives, policies and intentions for government reform.

  4. @Tim Buktu–

I believe he meant “around” instead of “are”—i.e., “Somewhere around 90%…are against President Trump’s perspectives, policies and intentions for government reform.”

  5. MMinWA — There were a couple of things that I found off-putting about him. First, he ripped off a couple of Fur’s graphics without attribution. I think, also, that one of them was the image Joe6Pack created for a bumper sticker he made. He used the images repeatedly, so it wasn’t just a one-off. In fact, I may have even left a comment on his thread where it was used. The second thing is he often directly quotes Bill Whittle’s riff about living like neanderthals around a dung fire, picking parasites off each other, and eating seaweed cakes. Never with attribution. It’s weird, too, because Whittle’s rant is so well-known. These may seem like minor infractions, but for someone who sets his store in writing it’s a big deal, and should be. He may come off as an all-knowing oracle, but I do question what else he has lifted and put forward as his own work.

I haven’t written him off at all, but he’s not a favorite.

  6. …there are meatier, essay-related things that I’ve found questionable, too, but that last comment was overlong and I’m tired of typing. I’ll just say that one of the benefits of CTH is it provides a jumping off point to do your own “GO DEEP”. Sometimes rabbit holes are really just rabbit holes.

  7. AA, I wasn’t aware of any image use without attribution by CTH. I certainly don’t like that if it’s true. What was his response to your comment?

I won’t make excuses for that but I find his analysis of the DC cesspool to be 100%(usually) accurate. I especially like his Sunday walk through of the appearances on the legacy media talk shows to compare that with my own take.

Just curious, who is your top dog?
