To be fair, “Negero” is the Spanish word for black. In English, the word was shortened to “Negro”. However, they still felt it necessary to point out his visible ethnicity, while completely ignoring his unseen ethnicity (Caucasian & Arab). Che was a racist, didn’t like black people at all, so it’s no far stretch of the imagination to believe that many in Cuba feel the same way because, even though he was Argentinian, he’s one of their commie heroes.
