In the mid-1960s, psychologist John Money encouraged the gender reassignment of David Reimer, who was born a biological male but suffered irreparable damage to his penis as an infant. Born in 1965 as Bruce Reimer, his penis was irreparably damaged during infancy due to a failed circumcision. After encouragement from Money, Reimer’s parents decided to raise Reimer as a girl. Reimer underwent surgery as an infant to construct rudimentary female genitals, and was given female hormones during puberty. During childhood, Reimer was never told he was biologically male and regularly visited Money, who tracked the progress of his gender reassignment. Reimer unknowingly acted as an experimental subject in Money’s controversial investigation, which he called the John/Joan case. The case provided results that were used to justify thousands of sex reassignment surgeries for cases of children with reproductive abnormalities. Despite his upbringing, Reimer rejected the female identity as a young teenager and began living as a male. He suffered severe depression throughout his life, which culminated in his suicide at thirty-eight years old. Reimer, and his public statements about the trauma of his transition, brought attention to gender identity and called into question the sex reassignment of infants and children.

Mr Riemer ended up like most people who suffer from sexual dysphoria and choose the hormone/plastic surgery/feminization route because no matter how much you screw up your body and appearance you brain and DNA knows the truth, so in those unguarded moments like sleep for example, the poor persons brain tortures them with the truth they refuse to accept and depression sets in which leads to even worse self-destructive behavior until finally they realize that they will NEVER be truly happy because they are living a lie and they kill themselves.
It is very sad that they are encouraged to chance this route instead of being encouraged to treat their mental illness.

I knew a girl, not as a close friend. She was born as a hermaphrodite. Her doctor and parents made the wrong decision for her. I just happened to turn on the TV TO Jerry Springer. She was relating her life experience. It was then I realized I knew her as a child. Her story is tragic. I trust very few doctors. I’ve been saved by NURSES and damed near killed by doctors.
One more example of (at least) one life ruined because of a know-it-all, arrogant, ignorant, megalomaniacal, egocentric, god-complexed, nihilistic maggot in a position of authority.

All these troublesome issues could be repaired by just drilling 2-3 large holes through the skull to let the demons out. Once they’re out be sure to cork the holes up so they can’t get back in. The patient will then go anyway you tell him, no questions asked. Safety Tip: Don’t try this at home with a hole saw. Mankind just keeps thinking it’s so much smarter than other creatures…sad

This is personal for me. We have a young neighbor who is being pandered to by his entire family (except one grandfather, who has no spine). And these aren’t stupid people; both parents are educated people — they’re also liberals. This kid is going off to college as a girl. I see nothing but bad news ahead, for everyone involved.
There is a book, “As Nature Made Him: The Boy Who Was Raised as a Girl”, that was written many years ago about Reimer. It is an interesting read for those of you who might be want more information. I am in no way connected to the author or sales of the book and read it as a student of clinical psychology.
