de Blasio to Fight Increase in City’s Shootings With Useless “Gun Buyback”

Dan Bongino: After removing bail for 90% of cases, putting thousands of criminals back on the streets due to the pandemic, disbanding the city’s plainclothes anti-crimes unit, and demonizing police officers, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is finally ready to fight crime. And like Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, he’s blaming the guns (which mysteriously weren’t going off at this frequency a mere year ago – at least for his city).

One part of his proposal is to increase NYPD foot patrols, which comes just weeks after disbanding the city’s plainclothes patrol. Presumably, Bill de Blasio will also be allowing anti-police protests to continue as he is forced to rely on the police to combat the crime wave his other policies have helped cause. De Blasio wouldn’t provide any details for the plan, and wouldn’t say how many officers would be deployed.

Another part of his strategy is to offer gun owners money for their firearms, a proposal that practically guarantees only law abiding gun owners turn in their guns, making it a gigantic waste of money if the goal is to reduce crime.

  1. I’m sure all the gangsters will be lining up to get rid of their guns so they can’t shoot anyone again.

FWIW, does anyone know if any “buy back” has seen a corresponding decrease in criminal use of guns afterward?

  2. maybe he & that other NY idiot, AOC, can get together to have a ‘starving-for-bread’ gun exchange

… maybe, the higher the caliber, the more loaves you get

  3. They either never seem to learn or are so arrogant they don’t think we know about all the disastrous gun buy back programs that have failed in the past. Hard to believe NYC could go from one of the best to one of the worst mayors in so short a time frame, but they did it.

  4. Ha Ha my laugh of the day.
    Didn’t someone tell Wilhelm
that it has been tried by dumb-ass
libtards many times and it fails 100% every 100%
of times it has been tried.

  5. @Tony R:

“How can you buy BACK something I didn’t buy from you in the first place?”

That’s clever (almost subliminal) wording to make you think (even subconsciously) that possess your gun with THEIR permission in the first place.

The expression, “Give back to the community,” is similar, especially when the person never took anything in the first place and spent their whole life running a productive business, employing many people and paying huge taxes. Same as Obama’s “You didn’t build that.”

    Marxist Progspeak.

  6. How much can I get for a shotgun?

For enough $$$ I’ll run up there with a trunk full of pipe, pipe fittings, lengths of 2×4, some old inner tubes, a box of nails, plus one electric drill.. I can make a slam-fire shotgun for about $7 max. Gimme $100 for it and we’ve got a deal!

  7. Just what I was thinking, Al. Except…zipguns.

All we gotta do is ship an assload of partially assembled guns to ghost up in the Bronx. He does final, lethal assembly and takes the junk to the cops.

    We split it three ways.

  8. That’s right – I gotta duct tape some pipe to some 1″ x 4″‘s and paint ’em black – a dozen should do me – so I can get $1,200 of ammo money!!! 😉

  9. @Aaron Burr – we have a BB gun range set up in the basement for target practice, the crew lovingly bought into it…but that’s it…for now, nothing ‘more’.

Long guns are cool to send, nothing else. This ain’t Arizona bitch! Just say ‘Gift to Glover’ on the Fedex.

Upstate NY at our small little Bunker? That’s ANOTHER story…

  10. Bitch?

In reality land you would be picking up teeth and apologizing.

No matter. All grist for the mill as they say. Am looking forward to posting an article on the upcoming car project, the “Ghost Mobile.”

“bitch” is costing you mufflers. Straight pipes for you, kid.

Oh yeah… not knowing what a zipgun is is costing you more. Fake New Yorker. No automatic for you. 4 on the floor. 3 foot tall shifter with a plastic tophat on top.

  11. @Aaron Burr – so which borough, or I should should say burrow, did you come from there, originally or your parents in NYC? Coppers? Jimmy Cagney was the last person to say coppers or youuuu diiirty ratsssss.

How do you like yaw cawfee?

To my point? ZIP guns were last used in the 50’s I think, but that was pre-ghost.

A ZIP is a improvised weapon, of a low caliber, for those in Rio Linda.

Maybe we can meet ON the Hudson River?

  12. zip guns fit in a shoebox you mook. EASY TO SHIP. It’s a bunch of pipes on one side. the other side has bits of scrap wood. On top are the lengths of plumbers tape. On the bottom are the screws wrapped in a kleenex. As well as the threaded pipe ends.

Assembled. It’s a single shot pistola. That qualifies for buyback. At 100 a pop thats 600$ per shoe box.

This is costing you a hardtop. Hope you like convertibles.

  13. I guess he decided to ignore that Chicago favorite, the STOP the VIOLENCE parades. These feature a do gooder sponsor, some neighbors and their children with signs and of course the media. Works wonders.

  14. In Jr High School we figured out that Chevrolet small block push rods with the ball ends cut off using a P grinder made a damn good smooth bore 22LR barrel. JB Weld it into a $5 pot metal roll cap gun that was drilled through and JB Weld a piece of drill rod in a hole drilled in the hammer for a firing pin. Combo rear sight/breech block that was hinged and attached up near the front of the frame where the barrel joint is.

They were good enough to drill raccoons clean through at 15 – 20 yards.

  15. I have a rare hand engraved side x side barrel Beretta from 1963 with pristine blueing.

    DeBallsucker, What is your offer?

  16. The very notion that any of these shitbag Democrats give a damn about anyone other than law abiding Americans owning guns is ludicrous. For Christ’s sake there is video of a felon distributing semi auto center fire carbines out of the trunk of his Tesla to known felons and they didn’t bother to charge either party.

  17. Al, preliminary research indicates the city pays 200 per weapon. Last buyback was 2019 in Staten Island and of course, da’ Bronx.

With a reliable native to ship too, we can clear thousands.

Certainly enough to retain the services of my attorney. Actually…I should give him a heads up as this is pretty much how I started in on Wisconsin in 2012.

  18. With all the perps being let out of jail because of the Chirona I guess nobody needs a gun. And don’t forget those peaceful protesters. Where can I turn mine in? I better hurry before they stop taking them in.

  19. My usual last to the party or thread ending…

Say what you will. When they hold the “buy backs” here in Shitcago…

    No questions asked
$100.00 Visa Gift card for any weapon (Don’t remember what they give for bb guns and YES toy guns)

Collect all the junk crap form the crew and send somebody into the city to redeem it for a deck of $100.00 cards.
Supposedly cards do not work for purchase of guns and ammo and have not tried that. Give them to Momma and subtract the cash out of the household money and it works great that way.

Downside is some locations for the buyback in Shitcago we won’t go into. Even with the ungodly large presence of cops and News Teams, you’re still in jeopardy. And NO I don’t comment to the asshats covering the events for the media. The majority of what they get is crap you wouldn’t want pull the trigger on. They try to play it up as a great success each time and sometimes you here nothing as they took in almost nothing.

Half dozen or more and we make the trip…
I’ll drive into the city for $600.00 or more every time…
