Awesome Chalupa. Never heard of the first two bands but will be watching for them. The Kings of Leon are on our summer mix that booms in the back yard. Along with Bjorn and Metallica. Don’t ask, but your welcome to the party.
Thanks Brad – Fur slipped in the studio version of Handshake Drugs – I guess the live version wouldn’t post…check it out on youtube…unbelievable. Wilco’s about the best band around nowadays. Sloan’s 1999 disc Between The Bridges is great from start to finish – a good place to start for a new fan. Kings Of Leon’s Youth And Young Manhood disc rocked my world when I first heard it – first song on Aha Shake Heartbreak kills it – after that I gave up on them sad to say. I hope we get many more chances to play DJ. Thanks for the invite.
Chalupa. … very eclectic tastes
Chalupa
Lot’s of great new original bands out there. And yet we are still listening to Free Bird on the FM. I don’t get it.
That’s true Groucho – but anyone that hangs out at the People’s Cube’s Peoples Karaoke knows that.
Brad – it takes some effort to find quality music – when did popular music get so dreadful? I think it started about 1974. I’d rather be different than listen to the same old tired song over and over.
I saw Chalupa was tonight’s DJ and knew this was going to be good and new to my ears. Reminds me of my old “Stangler’s” days. Thanks Chalupa!
Thanks Meerkat!! I enjoyed your songs too. Racing Uptown is my favorite song by the Stranglers.
Back when i used to collect music not much after 1974 caught my ear… as the decades passed it got even less.
There’s good music every year… just not on the radio.
Radio? What’s that?
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT SHIT?
I thought I was gonna hear Chalupa? Come on Dude, I’ve seen your cover of Neil Young’s OLD MAN, now that was talent.
Thanks Doc! Doc’s talking about a Facebook video a friend shot of me singing Old Man at a karaoke club. I have no idea how to post that video here.
I’ve been hanging out at the Peoplekaraoke lately, Chalupa. Lately you’ve shown a taste for something, allright, but I would hardly call it eclectic
So Chalupa, you say you sing at karaokes? You ever sing any of your song parodies?
Chalupa, I like the acoustic 12 string while standing in the creek too.
I’m a karaoke fanatic Lennie….if I tried to sing one of my parodies in public here in California, at the very least they’d cut power to my mic ha ha. It’d be the polar opposite of a Linda Ronstadt concert – still half the crowd would be pissed.
Thanks Doc – just watched that one….again, I’d post it if I could figure out how to.
This is my friend Bottle Ned’s video I Got Holes In Different Area Codes – I make a cameo appearance at the 3:47 mark.
