Detroit News: The Detroit school board voted Tuesday to begin the process for renaming several buildings in the district, including the Benjamin Carson High School of Science and Medicine.
The panel this year approved a new policy to commemorate, name and rename school facilities.
Under the measure, the board can opt to change a school’s name to honor “individuals who have made a significant contribution to the enhancement of education,” according to the district. The board also can select another name under circumstances that include when a building is newly built or redesigned, where the name no longer reflects the current student population or “the community of the geographic area where the school is located requests a name change that more closely aligns with the history of the locality, or information newly discovered about the current name of the school is negative in nature.” more here

Dr. Ben Carson is a wonderful man. So is President Donald Trump.
Let me explain:
During the 2016 Presidential debates, the the host TV station guy (?) was calling out the contestants. He tripped up, actually he phucked up, and it left Dr. Carson alone in the aisle, unsure if he should enter the stage. So he stood in the aisle. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, passed him by, giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder. And the stood proudly on the stage.
My President, Donald Trump was called and when he saw Dr.Carson standing there, he stopped. He stood with Dr. Carlson until the
TV Dick straightened out the clusterfuck.
That, to me, is the mark of a man. I’ll never forget it. Two great men.
Up to me, I’d name NY Presbyterian Hospital after Dr. Benjamin Carson.
