DHS arrives in Penske trucks at a Home Depot in McArthur Park area of LA

DHS arrives in Penske trucks at a Home Depot in McArthur Park area of LA for early morning immigration enforcement. The area was filled with migrants who scattered. DHS says MS 13 has a chokehold on this area, which is one reason they’re carrying out the highly optic immigration raids. 16 taken into custody.

  1. And Penske had a fit about it. Something about passengers shouldn’t be in a cargo truck box. Didn’t bother them when 58 illegals were found in one of their trucks being human trafficked, though…

  2. Before my current career I was a successful international high-tech and bio-tech recruiter. I did that work for almost 30 years. If there were only 3 people who knew some sort of arcane aspect of tech, I could find them. There are really only about 3 degrees of separation. Maybe 2.

I write this because what made me good at that work was my love for sleuthing — both the internets, and by having a wide net of “bird dogs”; people whose careers I looked out for in return for them looking out for me.

When the Big Beautiful Bill passed and all that funding came to be for DHS/ICE/etc, I’ve thought of inquiring as to how they could use someone like me; a keyboard ICE warrior. I’ve already thought up a half dozen strategies/tactics for use in the field.

When I read that these guys do these operations, only to have their targets “scatter”, it’s frustrating to me. This happens too often and it’s a total waste of good and expensive resources. They get in front of the mics for a presser and name off two dozen agencies who were part of it, and the total number of personnel involved are at least 10:1 to those they detain. Even worse, they end up deporting fewer than half.

Wherever I go lately I keep my ear tuned to job sites, restaurants, etc. Sometimes the only spoken language is not English. That’s when I wish I had an app on my phone that is an ICE hotline.

I bet there are a number of people here who would make great ICE helpers.

  3. @JC — That’s exactly how they need to think. Every trade!

    Low hanging fruit:

    Door Dash
    Uber
    Amazon drivers
    Ethnic restaurants
Every ad on Craigslist posted by laborers, trash hauling, yard clean-up, painters, house cleaners, etc.
Anyone walking around in a long-sleeved hoody with the hood pulled down over their eyebrows in 80+ degree heat.
Anyone passed out in a doorway or on a sidewalk who cannot speak English.

  4. Someone, somewhere, commented that every illegal in this country has ties to the cartels. That sounded strange to me until I thought about it. Yes, I think it’s safe to say that, because of the way the cartels work, it’s not only possible, but likely, that everyone here illegally (and who knows how many are here legally) who have some kind of connection to the cartels. They operate exactly like the Mafia gangs, overseeing a host of high value enterprises. The obvious ones are drugs, human smuggling, child and adult sex trafficking (prostitution), and identity theft. But they’re also deeply networked into all the trades, and they make a lot of money through extortion of all kinds. I’m sure Bukele had an earful for POTUS Trump when they met.

  5. Any sniper overwatch positions available? If they scatter, can we use scatter guns? Why not harpoon?

Note to Ryder Trucks: body bag contents aren’t people.

  6. …all ICE/DHS has to do is rent a bunch of trucks/vans in various makes/models/colors, dress the drivers like average Joes, and send them out a few at a time at a wide range of intervals at the start of the day to pick-up the illegals standing around the entrances of HD and Lowes. Drive off with one or two, take them down the road a couple of miles to the back of a Krogers or a CVS (under the guise of “I gotta make a quick stop”), and let the waiting ICE guys take them into custody.

After a few weeks/months, there won’t be any more guys standing around HD and Lowes, and no one will be the wiser.

  7. These videos are shocking—seeing agents jump from a Penske truck to arrest day laborers at a Home Depot is chilling. Even more concerning is how this seems to disregard the court order restricting indiscriminate raids.
