Did SMOD Take Out Sodom?

Nature

We present evidence that in ~ 1650 BCE (~ 3600 years ago), a cosmic airburst destroyed Tall el-Hammam, a Middle-Bronze-Age city in the southern Jordan Valley northeast of the Dead Sea. The proposed airburst was larger than the 1908 explosion over Tunguska, Russia, where a ~ 50-m-wide bolide detonated with ~ 1000× more energy than the Hiroshima atomic bomb. A city-wide ~ 1.5-m-thick carbon-and-ash-rich destruction layer contains peak concentrations of shocked quartz (~ 5–10 GPa); melted pottery and mudbricks; diamond-like carbon; soot; Fe- and Si-rich spherules; CaCO3 spherules from melted plaster; and melted platinum, iridium, nickel, gold, silver, zircon, chromite, and quartz. Heating experiments indicate temperatures exceeded 2000 °C. Amid city-side devastation, the airburst demolished 12+ m of the 4-to-5-story palace complex and the massive 4-m-thick mudbrick rampart, while causing extreme disarticulation and skeletal fragmentation in nearby humans. more here

I believe the technical term for this is smithereens. God reduced the everything of the city, all structures and inhabitants, to smithereens.

Some day, future archaeologists, perhaps alien archaeologists, will sift through the smithereens of Laundry-LargeWeight (rough translation) trying to determine its method of annihilation.

  2. Now these are scientists.

I wish our scientists and political persons who are so certain the vaccines are safe were as careful and thorough as these scientists seem to be.

I grant that it was an emergency and people were moving fast, but that is NO excuse for the continued push as information is coming out more and more that the original mandates were flawed and continue to be flawed.

Let real scientists on all sides of the discussion debate in public – get the politicians out of this.

  3. One thing I love about God is His frugality. If we want to destroy cities we spend billions in research, hundreds of millions in testing, and millions in the final act of delivering the payload.

Whereas God just grabs a passing rock and throws a Nolan Ryan fastball straight downtown.

  4. Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that when your time comes to pass similar judgement on this country, that you hone your sites on San Fransisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York and Washington DC. That would be a good start.

  5. To this day there are still little balls of sulfur to be found at the locations of Sodom and Gomorrah.

I’m going with that for those places.

Not like it really matters when it comes to being saved. You’re not getting a comprehensive history test to get into heaven. Just one way to get in. THE way.

  6. God destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah with sulfur balls. The sulfur balls have been discovered in remnants of river beds near the Dead Sea. When the sulfur balls hit the water, they sizzled out and dropped to the bottom. When the sulfur balls hit land, it killed and burned everything on impact. Only survivors were Lot and his 2 daughters. Lot’s wife was told not to look back at the city as they fled, but she looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. 7. Any time I see an article that mentions “BCE” or “CE”, I refuse to read it.
It is “BC” and “AD”. Before Christ, and Anno Domini.
Those pinheads and PC crowd that want to ignore Christ and Christianity are too stupid to notice that their timeline is exactly the same as the Christian timeline. They just refuse to accept Christ, but yet they use the same timeline.

  8. That article has lots of progressive concensus scientific jibber jabber. An attempt to circumvent what God actually did to Sodom and Gomorrah.
God the Creator of ALL designed the sources of explosions and incineration with sulfur and other materials that ignite.
He knows the difference and decided sulfur was more effective for His purposes. The left needs to face it -God is smarter.

  9. No paper will be published in Academia without the “BCE/CE” trope.
Academia is anti-Christian to its core.
Only izlamists, wiccans, and other pagans are allowed to voice their beliefs.

  10. The Lord God Almighty blew them up and salted the remaining microns…literally biblical.

Not we have Christ the Redeemer so even satanic demon infested slugs can be redeemed through genuine repentance, not gonna happen with 99% of today’s Lucifer lovers but God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son, that those who believe in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

Looking at you Alphabet spies, never to late to save your twisted souls.

…with you all the way, but it’s been going on for a pretty long time now, they’ve just put in on steroids as with everything Communist with the advent of the fraudulent Pedo administration.

I remember maybe 30 years ago going to a Dead Seas Scrolls exhibit at a local museum in a rotating exhibits hall that was being put on by some Jewish society or other. The museum provided the space, but the society supplied the exhibits, docents, etc., and basically manned the hall.

This was unsurpiringly a very Old Testament exhibit, the Jewish people by and large not too interested in the latter half of the Book for various reasons, but being from a full Gospel background inclusive of the Old Testament, my wife and I were very familiar with the scenes being depicted for us, such as “What did the stones and sling David used look like”, or “This is what a tabernacle looked like”, things like that, and the story was more or less linear with the Torah except for they were trying to use it to contextualize the scrolls for which the exhibit was named.

I wasn’t too interested in the religious or scholarly aspects of it, mostly there because I like looking at what amounts to Biblical stage sets and wanted to see their reproduction Wailing Wall (plus, the wife was the one who wanted to see it more than me), and there’s some question about whether they are inspired works or fan fiction, so I won’t get into that debate here. My thing was that, as we went through the exhibits, we both noted that everything was dated as “BCE”, which at the time (many years ago and before Democrats had ruined absolutely everything) was NOT a common form of dating that we were familiar with. The Internet not being a thing then, we asked oneof the docents, who again were provided a JEWISH SOCIETY what this meant, and she explained that it was “Before Common Era” and that it alinged with the calendar we were familiar with.

Thoughtless me had to say, “Oh, you mean Before Christ!”.

…if memes were a thing then, I would have LOVED to have memed her face for use anytime I needed one for ‘Icy Disgust’, and if it were today, I’d probably have my life cancelled for insensitivity. As it was, she just glared for a long minute, and replied, “Yes, something like that”, and stalked off, probably to tell the other docents to avoid the Anti Semite couple currently profaning their exhibit.

After a facepalm, the wife explained my faux pas, but being the senstitive soul that i am I had more trouble surpressing laughter than hanging my head in shame.

It was still OK to make an honest mistake then.

But I did hold my tounge for the rest of our journey through the past. Even then, I had respect enough for that.

…but that was in the context of a Jewish exhibit being presented by Jewish people and largely for Jewish people, so even now I wouldn’t get too mad at it. But in larger society, to even SAY “Common Era” and “Before Common Era” means that, duh, PEOPLE COMMONLY USE AD AND BC FOR TIME REFERENCE, THAT’S WHY ITS CALLED THE ‘COMMON ERA’!

I refuse to adopt that system, and will sometimes even spell out “Anno Domini” if I’m feeling onery and TRYING to provoke a reaction.

    But it ususally doesn’t.

Because the typical Democrat has no idea what that means.
