NY Daily News- Two Queens nurses were indicted on Thursday for ignoring a disabled patient who was left bleeding from a head wound for more than 10 minutes, prosecutors said.
Funmilola Taiwo and Esohe Agbonkpolor were both nurses on duty at Peninsula Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Far Rockaway when a 51-year-old resident fell in front of Agbonkpolor and hit his head.
The incident was caught on surveillance video.
Agbonkpolor, 39, allegedly walked away, leaving the mentally ill man alone for 12 minutes crawling on the floor before another nurse aide dragged him back to his room, prosecutors said.
The nurses are both no longer employed with the facility. They each face up to four years in prison for endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person charges.
