Disqualified Marathon Runner Found Dead in Los Angeles River

Epoch Times:

The body of 70-year-old Frank Meza was found shortly before 10 a.m. in the Cypress Park area on Thursday, July 4, ABC7 Eyewitness News reported. No cause of death has been announced, but an official cited in the report said it is likely not due to drowning.

A record-setting runner dogged by allegations of cheating was found dead in the Los Angeles River, reports said.

In March, Meza finished the L.A. Marathon with a time of 2:53:10, Runner’s World reported, which for his age would have been an incredible performance. It was over an hour faster than any other person in his age group.

This week, he was officially disqualified from the L.A. Marathon for allegedly cheating. more

  1. Not to change the subject (but I will) this could have been me the other day when I went river kayaking and got swept away in the rapids almost drowning while trying to hold onto my kayak and being dragged across boulders and rocks. I made it to shore barefoot, and climbed up an embankment with sharp rocks to the railroad tracks. I had to tear my shirt and wrap it around my feet in order to walk over the burning hot railroad ties over a mile in the 90 degree weather getting sunburned in the process. Loads of fun. (Fortunately my friend rescued my $1500 kayak.)

  2. People who do these sorts of things are total cunts. They’re like those assholes who pretend to be war heroes. How the fuck could one get any satisfaction at all from accolades they knew to have acquired through lies, cheating, and falsehoods?

Personally, I’m glad this fucker is dead. What a total asshole.
