Do you see what I see? – IOTW Report

Do you see what I see?

Do a Google search for American Inventors.

It’s a wonder Thomas Edison made the cut, what with the famous Lonnie Johnson, inventor of the super soaker front and center.

American musicians? Dylan and Presley made the cut, which begs the question, “weren’t there any Muslims to take their place?”

A search of American singers leaves out Frank Sinatra, but not Aallyah. I’m not even sure who she is. Or Anastasia, for that matter.

Google, your bias is showing.

  1. George Washington Carver? Peanut Butter is a recipe, not an invention.

Madame CJ Walker made shampoos and conditioners for nappy hair. These are “inventions”?

What a pantload of politically correct propaganda soaked with affirmative action.

  2. (from the linked article:)

“A Google spokeswoman told The Daily Caller: ‘The results displayed in Search are algorithmically generated, and ranked based on a number of different factors including the frequency with which the search terms are mentioned across the web and the relevance of the websites that contain these search terms.’”

    Uh-huh.

And the Pope wears a normal hat.

  3. 27 out of 45 are (whoop whoop whoop) people of COLOR They should be showing those that have real accomplishments to the Schools for Educational purposes.
Sick of having it shoved down our throats by the Media
    TV,Newspapers, commercials.

    annie

  4. Another reason not to use google. Their agenda is yoked to the 0bama administration’s agenda.

Dylan was more of a poet than a musician or a singer. Hendrix was a big Dylan fan.

  5. What bullshit. Example:
“Janet Emerson Bashen is an American inventor, entrepreneur, and business consultant. She patented a software program to assist with web-based equal employment opportunity investigations.[2] She founded a human resource consulting firm focusing on equal opportunity employment compliance, which investigated civil rights violations and employee misconduct.”

Developing software is NOT inventing. Others were equally dubious.

  6. I switched to Bing.
Google has so completely changed their algorithms as to be useless.
Leftist politics aside, every question I ask Google now comes with 3 pages of useless ‘sponsored’ advertising results, none of which pertain to my question, even remotely.

  7. George Washington Carver belongs on the American Inventors list. Please don’t lump him in with the Sooper Soaker guy. Carver was a brilliant botanist and an early bioengineer. The south was mostly growing cotton which was depleting the soil. Mr. Carver invented uses for soybeans and peanuts so crops could be rotated and the soil improved. The uses for those crops goes far beyond peanut butter.
In addition to contributing greatly to science and agriculture, Mr. Carver was a teacher and a fine human being. A fascinating life. Look him up.

  8. And peanut butter? As an invention?

Humans have been mashing beans into paste since Man first picked up a smooth rock.

“George Washington Carver, inventor of peanut butter” was always a classroom joke, long before Affirmative Action and Black History Studies were ‘invented’.
Sadly, it’s a pretty thin pool of names to celebrate.

Like pretending to have ‘invented’ sunshine.
    Or rain.

Is there any mention of the 1960s ‘invention’ of KWAANZA?

  9. I wonder if you Google slavery if the results would mention islamic slavers or just a bunch of old white dude slavers?

I don’t have a problem with Mr Carver being near the front as he had some good perspectives on hard work and perseverance. I would put him in the same class as Thomas Sowell and Walter E Williams.

Here’s a link to some of his quotes. The left would call him an Uncle Tom were he alive today.

  10. They seem to be forgetting one of their role models: Al Gore. Wrong color skin? There wouldn’t even be a google, according to Al, if it wasn’t for the invention of the internet.
    Google his lying ass, google.
    lol

  11. here’s a theory i’ve been sharing for a long time now….

why are today’s msm telling us all lies we can see are lies right in our faces?…they know we know the truth, but they don’t care, they still print/report their lies as truth….well, here’s why….

they’re not speaking to US…..they are writing the history people will be reading 20-30 years from now – people who DON’T know the truth, and will believe these lies ARE the truth….

what’s that lenin said? something about “he who controls the past…..”…..?….
