Attorney General Pam Bondi is directing federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty for Luigi Mangione if he is convicted of the December murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, she announced in a statement Tuesday.

  1. Actually, the reverse should be applied to all these murders. Capital Punishment should be the baseline penalty pursued. And don’t just apply it to “insurance executives”, but murder of anyone be they chief, cook, or bottle washer.

  2. If convicted and sentenced to death, it will happen sometime between 2040 and 2050. Add on how many years it takes to get to trial. Two, three, five?

    We’ll be paying for umpteen appeals during the course of his imprisonment.
