As U.S. election exit polls began to point to a second presidency for Donald Trump, many Americans were already looking for another kind of exit: moving abroad.

Google searches for “move to Canada” surged 1,270% in the 24 hours after U.S. East Coast polls closed on Tuesday, company data shows. Similar searches about moving to New Zealand climbed nearly 2,000% while those for Australia jumped 820%.

Late Wednesday evening on the U.S. East Coast, Google searches about emigrating were hitting all-time highs for all three countries, according to a Google official. More

  1. Well gee, you can’t just “move” to another country because you feel like it. They have rules, and requirements, and conditions, and restrictions, and regulations, and financial bench-marks.

We have been through all this as a couple. RadioMattM immigrating to Canada as my spouse after we married. Then me, 16 years later, immigrating to the US as his spouse. Both took 1.5 to 2.5 years, thousands of dollars, and a LOT of red tape. Keeping in mind that a spousal sponsorship (i.e. the sponsoring spouse is a citizen of the home country) greatly expedites the process. If you are just a random Joe Blow the process is a LOT harder and restrictive.

  2. Another “minor” detail that US citizens may not know is that, no matter where they relocate, they are required to file a US tax return every year. And they are also required to report all there assets in their “adopted country” every year. They must pay US income taxes plus income taxes to their resident country unless that country has a tax treaty with the US. Even if a tax treaty is in place they may also be subject to US income taxes if their income exceeds set limits.

Follow me for more tax advice! LOL!

Got a friend of mine who married a Chinese gal about 5 years ago and brought her in the legal route. ICE has the legal right to bust into their home with out a warrant and rip the place apart. They now have two children together and are receiving the same treatment. ICE has raided their home twice. And meanwhile terrorists are welcomed crossing the border. My aching head.

  4. Yeah, “Love it or leave it” works for me. Let these self-appointed virtue signaling, traitorous elite leftists be some other country’s pain in the neck.
They’ll whine, complain and throw tantrums wherever they go.

Eventually after experiencing how limited their civil liberties are in other countries, It will hit them The United States is paradise by comparison.

  5. The whole proof of employment and Non dependency on government required by every other nation on earth is going to be a real sticking point for a lot of these people.

  6. Wait? You mean to tell me that other countries have rules/laws that they will enforce on immigration?

Even worse they expect immigrants to obey their laws upon immigrating?

Will someone be telling Whoopi about this?

Questions, I have so many questions while I sip my cup of liberal tears.
