The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced this week that it will be conducting the first sale of oil and gas drilling leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge on Jan. 6, 2021 via video livestream on the agency’s website.

The left-wing media is reporting that the development is devastating to the pristine part of Alaska and that President Donald Trump is pushing through the long-planned sales before Joe Biden replaces him, including the New York Times More

  1. With oil prices as low as they are now, I doubt there will be any great demand for new leases and exploration.

I’m not seeing any great rebound in the economy anytime soon that would result in a greatly increased demand for oil in excess of what is already developed and running at reduced capacity.

If you see it differently and have confidence in a different outlook, put your money there and see how it fares, but I’m not thinking it’s a good investment now.

  2. I expect that President-elect Biden and defacto Harris will reverse this.
Keep fighting. We know that President DJT really won the election, but as time passes, that will be over-ruled by the stealing of the election.
I do hope the fighting will succeed, but I am getting depressed that the truth will be irrelevant. I am still hoping, but …

  3. I spent 12 years working up there. The first three were on land that bordered ANWR. That picture is not representative of the area that is proposed for drilling. To not drill there for the purpose of determining whether or not there is potential for an economical oilfield would be gross negligence. Based on the exploratory wells we drilled, and a couple others that friends of mine were on we all believe there is an oilfield there. Point Thompson is where I was at, currently under development.
