There are indeed a million ways to die…. This traffic signal tech just used up about eight of his nine lives….. Good thing his lanyard held.

That utility crew must have been a gaggle of maroons. Not shutting down the lane is just plain idiotic. A mistake they probably won’t repeat.
Jims watching this in his mom’s basement laughing at Joe.
This one is for all the ass hats who think it’s cool to be “Joe”.
“Jim” probably hit him while texting.
Eventually iotw will have to have a page explaining the Jim/Joe phenomenon for those new to the site. 😉
He almost kicked the bucket. There, now no one else has to say it.
Jim hit Joe because Jim was drunk driving.
Joe lived because he always uses his safety harness.
Jim will come up with a better plan….for next time.
I spent a lot of time in buckets, always used my lanyard.
We’ve had some trees taken down.
The tree guys going up in one of those with a chainsaw and bringing a tree down section by section is something to watch. Dangerous enough without truck traffic.
I
Jim??? Joe??? WTH did i miss?
Charlie, go back a day or two to a post titled “Who’s Stupid?” You might want to start with a beverage.
I still think that we should use the old Goofus and Gallant comic strip from the children’s magazine Highlights as the mascots for Jim and Joe.
Being Joe, in all reality means falling off ladders, slipping off roofs, falling through T-Bar ceilings, electrocuting himself at least several times a year, working in the freezing cold, sweating in some guys attic working on his stuff, making hourly wages instead of a salary, logging millions of miles in a career, and living with a beat up body when you’re 50…. unless, you take the field work and turn it into a good Corporate position in an established Company.
I think the “Jim’s” finally grow up and fit in; and I also think there’s nothing like learning how to work in the field. Jim will never have that, and he can kiss my ass.
Dammit Joe, you let Jim get one over on you.
Bucket Guy’s company will be lucky if OSHA doesn’t hit them with a big fine for not properly setting up a work zone.
That said, IdeaLease driver is an idiot, probably illegal (this was in Texas).
@carter ~ damn skippy
not the fault of the driver though … Bucket Man had control of the bucket
moral of the story: don’t play in traffic
These type of collisions are more common than you realize; they generally result in a fatality.
