Duke Prof Resigns Position After Advising Chinese Students To Speak English

Two faculty members of the Duke Medical School requested that the director of graduate studies provide photos of Chinese students studying at the school. Those students had been loudly talking in their native tongue to the point where these faculty members wanted to avoid working with them on internship or graduate work in the future.

The director thought it a good idea to advise Duke’s Chinese students to “speak English 100 percent of the time.” The intended warning was imaged and widely shared to the point where Megan Neely voluntarily stepped down as director of graduate studies.  More

You can bet, Duke’s next graduate studies director will limit contact with foreign students and let them fend for themselves on campus. -Dr. Tar

  1. They are free to do whatever they want…pick their nose, dig wax out of their ear, compare navel lint, or speak their own language in public.

But, they must learn a basic tenet of life… “Actions Have Consequences”

  2. maybe the tx guy from article earlier today can teach chinaman engrish:
Texas: Muslim who applied to be an English teacher for the Islamic State is indicted.

Engrish. So easy even a cave man can teach it to a chinaman.

  3. Please don’t assume all Asian Americans would support this. My wife is a first-generation Taiwanese and she is disgusted that this professor had to resign, likely at the hands of activists who don’t speak for her. The people I know in the local Chinese community are grateful to be here and work their a**es off to improve their English and to be good Americans. The last thing they want or need is to be tarred by the actions of the perpetually offended who sniff racism everywhere.
