Durham, Sussmann legal teams agree on 38 possible jurors, trial could start by Tuesday

JTN: Lawyers for Special Counsel John Durham and former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann on Monday began the process of selecting a jury pool with the process possibly concluding as early as tonight.

By afternoon recess, 38 potential jurors were confirmed, from which 12 jurors will be chosen for the trial as well as four alternate jurors. Potential jurors were questioned about their donations to 2016 presidential campaigns and if they would be able to set aside their views of both political parties’ candidates and judge the case fairly.

The defense has 10 peremptory strikes to use on those of the 38 possible jurors who are not alternates while the prosecution has six. Each side will also have two strikes to use for alternate jurors.

The trial, taking place in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, is Durham’s first in his probe into the origins of the now-discredited Trump-Russia collusion narrative that began in 2019. read more

  1. Obama appointed judge and jurors that donated to the Hillary and AOC campaigns.

    Smells like, victory. For Sussman.

  3. What’s the point? The judge will give Sussman a slap on the wrist, and he’ll land a job on CNN for $1 million/year to spew lies to 100,000 committed morons a few times per week as a payoff for keeping his mouth shut.

  4. I think that the point that is missed here is that, if done properly, Durham can have so much of their nefarious conduct exposed that he wins in the court of public opinion. It may be the only consolation.
