Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has publicly apologized for his Maui fire fundraiser with Oprah Winfrey, acknowledging that the sight of two wealthy celebrities asking average Americans for money was poorly thought out.
In an Instagram video, Dwayne Johnson admitted “I could have been better and next time I will be better.”
“When we first launched the fund, there was some backlash,” he said. ” I want to say that I get it, and I completely understand.”

If a celebrity/politician backtracks on something stupid or thoughtless they said, it’s almost always due to the unfavorable feedback they get that might affect $$$; not through any actual feeling of remorse.
I didn’t mind him and thought he was a decent person, but after the clip of him on SNL where he portrayed a scientist and his “evil invention contest” submission was a child molesting robot, he became dead to me. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a typical Hollywood piece of shit pedo.

As somebody who spends an inordinate amount of time apologizing for something I’ve said or done, I cut the guy some slack. Crap happens, if you messed up, apologize, move on.
