Ed Asner, the actor and activist best known for portraying Lou Grant on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and its subsequent spinoff, has died at age 91.
The actor’s death was announced through his official Twitter account Sunday, noting that he died peacefully. No cause of death was given.
“We are sorry to say that our beloved patriarch passed away this morning peacefully. Words cannot express the sadness we feel. With a kiss on your head- Goodnight dad. We love you,” the tweet reads. More
RIP
Although I didn’t wish him death, he was a leftist asshole.
I’m sorry, he was one of the Hollywood shitheads I really, really hated. Glad he’s gone. BIH (Burn In Hell)
I’m watching “Route 66” reruns right now. The early 60s show had a stable of actors who played different parts in different episodes, and Ed Asner was one of them. Good, versatile actor, regrettable politics. RIP.
Oh, say it motherfuckers, COVID-19, like everybody else.
HEY FDR!
The new pool boy s on his way!
Always thought he was a skilled actor and the right guy to portray “Lou Grant.”
RIP.
Bye
He was the Godfather of moronic, hypocritical virtue signaling. He defended Castro putting political dissidents to death because that was “the rule of law in Cuba” while Asner himself personally disagreed with the death penalty, but it was okay for Castro to do it because he was a communist.
So… Fuck Ed Asner.
Unmissed.
Gee, that’s a shame.
Back in the late eighties I met Asner on Sunset Blvd, when called to an accident. He was hit by a car backing up, and was sent to the hospital. He was nice enough then.
I know he is a dipshit lefty but one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies is The Christmas Card;

He is a kind honest church going dad of one of the love interests, I’d like to remember him that way.
He’s achieved Good Communist status.
Good Riddance.
@ Rich
You have no idea how much that movie gets play at my house. It’s ok, but I had enough of it for 10 life times.
My grandfather used to refer to him as “Ed Asshole” when I was a kid.
Ed Asner was on the Alex Jones show in 2013. Check it out, you’ll be surprised..

@Toenex
I getcha, it is a bit sappy but it was made before Hallmark went woke, and hits all the themes; people go to church, solid work ethic,a patriotic community, and the military guy is polite and honorable. Works for me.
He made Ted Baxter look like Steven Hawking.
Well, bless his heart.
*as stated here in the south* 😉
Hey Ed it’s pretty hot there are you thirsty yet?? Let me help you out (pissing on his grave).
I like turtles!
Fuck him straight to Hell.
Betty White last one standing at 99.
Wherever Ed is right now I bet his ears are ringing from all the folks cussing his name.
I’m humming a Dultone tune…
“They took the river, searched it up and down, they assumed he drowned, but I knew better….”
Adios Ed, don’t sit on the rocks, they are hot as hell.
Asner wasn’t someone I just disagreed with politically. He was a vile P.O.S. and I’m glad he’s dead. There, I said it…
Ed Asner proves that even someone stupid enough to fall for socialism can be a successful actor. It points to the absurdity of looking to celebrities for advice on almost anything.
Too bad he lasted as long as he did. Horrible, horrible piece of shit commie. Clueless, ungrateful bastard made one helluva lotta money in a country he hated. Hope he rots in hell right along with Saddam Hussein and his boys.
As far as I know….he was a total liberal….no loss to society.
THAT’S A SHAME…
Well, now he’s a good Commie…if you know what I mean. Have a nice day but rot in Hell.
Unfortunately, he will keep on voting for years and years.
Tonight at dinner, Ed Asner said “Damn, it’s hot down here!”
To which John McCain replied, “Yeah, but it’s a dry heat.”
“He is a kind honest church going dad of one of the love interests, I’d like to remember him that way.”
Yeah. Fake Asner is the best.
