NEW YORK (AP) — Dick Van Patten, the genial, round-faced comic actor who appeared on Broadway as a child, starred on TV in its infancy and then, in middle age, found lasting fame as the patriarch on TV’s “Eight is Enough,” has died.
Van Patten died Tuesday in Santa Monica, California, of complications from diabetes, according to his publicist, Daniel Bernstein. He was 86.
86 was enough
Gaaaaaah!!!! TOO SOON, FUR!!!!!
He always seemed very feminine to me….I was also going to say 86 was enough and I’m a moron.
I would be glad to add pith to my comment, but I just went a minute ago.
I had to turn off images I can’t take that old wrinkly woman looking thru my letterbox in the front door.
8.6 decades was enough…
Dammit! I was gonna say that. And then say some hail Maries and what not after. lol
I never watched the show, just knew of it. The only thing I can say is- RIP, diabetes is a bitch, and I used to work with Adam Rich’s grandma. She was a sweater knitting fool! lol. Nice lady.
I was in a two-man play with Grant Goodeve once. A VERY gracious man. That was as close to Dick Van Patten as I got. Oh! His dog food gave my late dog the best years of her digestive life. :*)
I was gonna say he got eighty-sixed…
I liked him as King Roland in Spaceballs The Movie
RIP
Enjoyed his work.
I heard him interviewed on local radio about his pet food a couple years ago. He was a sweetheart and a total conservative.
