El Chapo’s demands for outdoor time may be part of escape plot

The Hill:

Federal officials warned Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s recent request for more outdoor activity may be part of a plan to escape from prison, CNN reports.

Guzmán was found guilty in February of charges including narcotics trafficking, using a firearm in furtherance of his drug crimes and participating in a money laundering conspiracy.

He has been detained in a federal prison in New York, where his lawyers have argued he is subject to “cruel and unusual” prison conditions, such as a lack of access to fresh air and natural light and having to use toilet paper as earplugs to ignore loud prison noise. They argue he needs more outdoor time.

The U.S. formally responded to the allegations on Thursday, saying that an attempted jailbreak took place at the prison in 1981, and because Guzmán has successfully escaped institutions in the past, outdoor time would be “problematic.”  more

  1. as he will pbly get several life sentences or 415 years with an eligible for parole after 200, what has he got to lose?
mexico does not penalize inmates for escape or attempts, unlike the US

  2. Give him some time in g.p. He can talk about the addiction problem as a positive to the dads that where protecting their children and got locked up.

  3. There’s a reason you went to extremes not to be turned over to the americans. Our prisons are actually very unpleasant as you’re noticing and you can’t smuggle in women and high end food. Just wait until you get to a supermax if you’re finding your present circumstances uncomfortable.

Of course the only way he can be communicating this escape plot to his collaborators is through SCUMBAG LAWYERS.

  4. Jerry Manderin, El Cheapo doesn’t have Killary as a cellmate because that would be in violation of the 4th Amendment, cruel and unusual punishment….to El Cheapo

  5. Why do we continue to play around with these clowns? I would offer “underground time”, which involves an electric chair, a shovel, and a pine box.

  6. “subject to “cruel and unusual” prison conditions, such as a lack of access to fresh air and natural light and having to use toilet paper as earplugs to ignore loud prison noise.”

All his subjects that died at his hands would love to have fresh air and natural light. They’d give anything to use toilet paper again. Rot in prison, or just die right now.

  7. “So let him on the roof. So he can be shot while trying to escape.”

Good idea, but put him in a cage with almost impossible ways to escape. Make him work at it until he’s exhausted. Make it like a gorilla cage with a tire as a swing, a couple of logs to climb on, and toss him some eucalyptus to suck on to clear his sinuses. Find out what kind of music he hates and blast it while he’s exercising.

  8. Do they even try to correct inmates at the Department of Corrections anymore? Or is it just low-grade, high-density public housing for the chronically unlawful nowadays?

  9. So just what’s wrong with toilet paper for ear plugs, been doing that for years, if it was used toilet paper I could see a beef. But that would be operator error.
