…when I was a kid they were fairly restrained even if it did focus on multicultural street people, mostly because my parent’s generation wouldn’t have them any other way.
This all changed when they got away with the experimental 1985 movie “Follow That Bird”, that posited that it was better for a mentally deficient child (played by Big Bird) to live on the streets than to be raised in a loving home by people (birds) who didn’t look like him because, kultur, or something.
